Being an online gamer in India has it’s up and downs, mainly downs but that’s mainly because of the lack of servers for games. Very few games have Indian servers which lead to high pings and what one could describe as a bad online experience.
Battlefield has been one of those games that have a pretty big fanbase in the Indian market and for years, fans of the series have requested and asked for Indian servers on the Battlefield forums and basically in any place where they think they’ll be heard. Well, it finally seems that DICE has heard their prayers as they plan on adding servers to regions that have a smaller player base than the US which includes having a server or maybe more in India. All this comes from LevelCapGaming’s youtube video where he talks about the upcoming changes to Battlefield V after the Beta. The specific part about Indian servers comes in at the 8:07 timestamp.
We hope that this is true because the Indian gaming market is rapidly growing and so is the eSports scene. Gamers here want the best experience possible and this is how they get a fluid online experience. Hopefully, this can further lead to other companies adding their servers to India as well so that we don’t have to connect to servers where the ping ranges from 100-300.
