There’s a lot of rumours surrounding the next line of cards that Nvidia is going to release. From the naming convention to the numbering system that they’ll use but the biggest is the actual date of launch. According to youtuber Gamer Meld who received emails from Nvidia’s Board Partners which state that the new series, the GTX 11xx will begin launching at the end of August with the GTX 1180.
According to the emails, Nvidia will reveal the lineup on August 30th along with making the GTX 1180 available for purchase. The GTX 1170 is supposed to launch around September 30th and the GTX 1160 around October 30th. Additionally, a GTX 1180+ is said to release alongside the GTX 1170. This GTX 1180+ could probably be the Ti version of the GTX 1180. As noted in the email, these are the expected release dates as of now. While we cannot confirm the authenticity of the email, the timing seems to line-up. Lenovo had stated that the GTX 11xx series would launch around Fall. Also, Nvidia is scheduled for a talk at Hot Chips on August 20th with the description of their talk being “NVIDIA’s Next-Gen Mainstream GPU”.
The Hot Chips conference is just a month away so we won’t have to wait too long to find out if the GTX 11xx series is actually happening this Fall because chances are that they will reveal it there and then open up pre-orders, at least for the GTX 1180 that will supposedly launch 10 days after. We hope that this happens since the mining craze ruined the GPU Market and prices are finally getting back to normal now and if the new series of cards do get announced, the current GTX 10xx might get cheaper, much to the joy of PC Enthusiasts who have been waiting to upgrade or build a new PC.
