With the announcement of Nvidia’s RTX cards, there’s been a lot of talk about its capabilities. There’s a lot of hype and a lot of caution as well since there haven’t been any actual benchmarks to show how they improve and how much better they are as compared to their predecessor. That was the topic of discussion on the PC Peasants Podcast before the controversy began.
About 4 minutes into the Podcast the guest, Archisman “fett” Pradhan began talking about how it’s weird to see preorders go up a month before release for cards that don’t have benchmarks yet and that consumers should be wary and not pre-order because of the hype but wait for actual benchmarks and reviews. This comment got Rohin “V3N0M” Bhaumik, the man behind PCP Gaming, in trouble and was seemingly the reason due to which his contract was terminated which stated that he was being sponsored by Nvidia. He later posted on Facebook to inform people about the termination as seen from the image below.
This caused members of the gaming community, especially those from the Indian Community to raise questions regarding the performance of the RTX cards and about the integrity of Nvidia as a company. In a Reddit thread that was posted to raise awareness about this issue, PCP Gaming commented that the partner brands were letting him keep the hardware.
We reached out to Rohin who told us that the real reason for the contract termination was because of the usage of “bad language” by his guest, Archisman, and also because of what Archisman said about Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun “Jensen” Huang. While Rohin has since moved on from the controversial debacle, there has been no word from Nvidia regarding this topic. We’ve reached out to Nvidia and will update this post as soon as we hear from them.
