Insomnia: The Ark Launch Trailer

INSOMNIA: The Ark – launch trailer unveiled for long-awaited RPG

Publisher HeroCraft and developer Studio Mono have revealed a brand new launch trailer for their upcoming dieselpunk RPG, INSOMNIA: The Ark, which will launch for PC via Steam on 27 September.

The new trailer gives players the best taste yet of the labour-of-love RPG, eight years in the making at Samara, Russia-based developer Studio Mono. Players explore a colossal space metropolis brimming with the secrets of a long-gone civilization – with an epic story that can be completed alongside four NPC companions, with 12 different endings determined by players’ choices throughout the game.

Explore Object 6 – a colossal space station set on a dismal 400-year journey in search of a new home. Your character wakes from cryogenic sleep – stricken with a rare psychological disease and unknowingly holding humanity’s last hope in his bare hands…

Following a successful closed beta phase over the summer which helped inform final tweaks and improvements, HeroCraft and Studio Mono are ready to unleash the title – eagerly awaited within roleplay circles – on the world. And what’s more, the game will continue to be supported post-launch, with additional content and features to be added via free DLC.

INSOMNIA: The Ark will release via Steam on 27 September for $29.99 / £29.99 / €29.99.

About INSOMNIA: The Ark

INSOMNIA: The Ark is a dieselpunk sci-fi RPG about the slowly degrading remnants of human society attempting to survive on an abandoned space metropolis. Players will develop their character, explore lovingly handcrafted locations, interact with peculiar NPCs and factions, and try to stay alive in this brutal world.

Welcome to Object 6 – a colossal space station set on a dismal 400-year journey in search of a new home. Your character wakes from cryogenic sleep – stricken with a rare psychological disease and unknowingly holding humanity’s last hope in his bare hands…

Key Features

• Exploration is rewarding… and dangerous – Search for valuable technology and resources in the confines of Object 6. Pay attention – INSOMNIA’s nuanced world can conceal unexpected quests from treacherous characters, as well as savage enemies and deadly hazards. Hunger, thirst, fatigue and hostile environments will be your main companions throughout this journey.

• Personalized journey – Break free from character classes and unwanted grind with a flexible perk system combined with a huge amount of craftable items and equipment for an experience unique to every player.

• Your choices matter – INSOMNIA offers an intricate, non-linear storyline with ‘points of no return’. Navigate a system of thorny relations with characters and factions and make tough decisions that affect the game world. Each major problem can be solved using a variety of different (and sometimes unexpected) solutions.

• Strategic real-time combat – INSOMNIA features both close and ranged combat, as well as destroyable covers. Choose your gear wisely – every armor and weapon type in the game has its own tactical virtues and shortcomings.

• A rich universe – Experience the game’s rich lore through retro-futuristic noir visuals with elements of dieselpunk. Witness man-made apocalyptic landscapes imbued with a dark noir jazz soundtrack and echoes of a decaying civilization.

Season Description: Clementine, now a fierce and capable survivor, has reached the final chapter in her journey. After years on the road facing threats both living and dead, a secluded school might finally be her chance for a home. But protecting it will mean sacrifice. Razer Phone 2 Release Date

Razer started their journey into the mobile market by releasing a mobile phone specifically targetted at gamers with features that are exclusive to it like the 120Hz display. While the Razer Phone wasn’t a huge hit, it did well in the market and Razer announced the Razer Phone 2 sometime back and now, we might have a release date.

Razer has been sending out invitations to the media for the launch of a new product which seems to be the Razer Phone 2. This is mainly due to the fact that the invite features the date of the event along with the words “Flagship” and “Gaming” inside what seems to be the outline of a phone. As seen from the invitation, the event takes place on 10th October in Hollywood and takes place a day after the Pixel 3 Launch event.

While not much is known about the event or phone at this point, the phone is expected to have a Snapdragon 848 SoC and will retain the 120Hz display with a design that’s very similar to its predecessor, the Razer Phone.

PUBG Xbox One: War Mode Arrives on 21st Sept

PUBG for Xbox One is slowly catching up to its PC counterpart in terms of content and with its full release, it’s going to be getting the War Mode soon too according to PUBG’s official twitter.

As linked on their tweet, their latest blog post talks about the upcoming hotfix update that aims to fix the framerate issues that have been plaguing users and has made the game unplayable for many. After the aforementioned Hotfix update which drops on September 18th, War Mode will be added to the game on September 21st. However, War Mode will only be available on select weekends in Event Mode and will be available for everyone to play at any time when the Custom Match feature releases in October.

For those who aren’t familiar with War Mode, it’s a game mode that can be described as Team Death Match mode where players hunt each other in teams in a static zone and features player respawn. Teams get points for knockdowns, kills and revives and the team with the highest points at the end of the timer or the team that reaches the set amount of points wins.

PUBG Xbox Getting Massive Downgrades?

PUBG for Xbox One recently got a full release and has seen a lot of new additional content. While this is great, the game has regressed quite a bit in terms of performance and has a lot of framerate issues as reported by players.

PUBG for Xbox One has been facing a lot of performance issues which has left players very upset as the game has become unplayable for many people. In the latest blog post, they’ve announced that they are releasing a hotfix for the game on September 18th to help fix these performance issues, but this comes at a cost. The game will be getting a significant visual downgrade to help fix these problems. However, the developers do state that this is a temporary solution and are working on a long-term fix for the performance issues. The changes are listed below.

  • Shadow Quality (Both Dynamic/Static) lowered
  • Post Processing
    • Turn off Motion Blur
    • Decrease quality of Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO)
    • Turn off Depth of Field
    • Turn off Lens Flare
    • Decrease Eyes Adaption Quality
      • This is the time it takes for your eyes to adapt to the dark when you go from a bright to dark place.
  • Effects
    • Turn off Screen Space Reflection (SSR)
      • This is the reflection from windows and such.
    • Turn off Refraction
      • This is refracted light.
    • Turn off Subsurface Scattering (SSS)
      • This is when there is light inside an object to make it look more real.
    • Turn off Particle Light
      • This is dynamic light from different effects such as explosions.
    • Lower the number of particles created

They’ve turned off a lot of performance-hungry options that while providing a lot of great visual enhancements can lead to lower framerates. These graphical downgrades will also effect Xbox One X users so even if you didn’t suffer from performance issues, you will be getting this downgrade. The difference in visual fidelity can be seen from the screenshots below.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Download Size Revealed

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey seems to be Ubisoft’s most ambitious Assassin’s Creed game yet and with a lot of positive press surrounding the game, fans are excited to get that their hands on the game. For those fans, we now have information regarding how much they’ll have to download before playing the game.

Microsoft has listed the game for pre-load on Xbox-Live and those who have ordered the game can now pre-load it and keep it. According to the pre-load listing, you will have to download 45GB of game data. This is about the same as Assassin’s Creed Origins’ size when it first launched but with games reaching up to 90GB and above, it’s good to see that a game of this size, scope and detail manages to stay under 50GB. This is the current download size without any DLC and updates like the Day One Update that most games seem to get.

While the size is taken from Microsoft’s listing, it’s safe to say that the PS4 size will also be around the same and the PC download size will likely be the same or maybe just a little bit more if they include a higher texture pack of sorts. If you’ve got slow internet and have preordered the game, you should start that pre-load the game because 45GB can be a gigantic size to download. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey comes out on 5th October for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and for the first time in the series will feature different paths that players can take including different routes because of the two different protagonists present in the game.

Well, the wait is over, ’cause apparently, the benchmarks for the RTX 2080Ti and RTX 2080 have been leaked online. Now, considering these are the official benchmarks, you might want not want to rush in for those pre-orders, but still, these should give you a fair idea about what kind of performance to expect.
