There might be a 9th Gen Core i3 processor

i3 is Intel’s low tier flagship. The chip finds a sweet spot in the wallet of budget builders, delivering great ‘performance to price’ ratio. When Intel’s 9th gen chip line up info-graphic emerged, i3 was left out. However, recent leaks indicate that a piece of happy news might be on its way.

According to the recent leaks that have surfaced, Intel might be working on an i3-9100F chip. The chip will surely lack integrated graphics, due to its ‘F’ suffix. Intel has dropped i3 8100-F from ARK database which seems a move to make room for the 9100-F.

The i3 9100 will be based on Intel’s 14nm ++ architecture. The processor will most probably be a 4 core 4 thread chip with support for 64 gigs of 2400 MHz memory running in dual channel. Much like the 8100, the new chip would have a TDP of 65W.
A listing by DELL Australia has indicated that 9100 would support Intel® Turbo Boost Technology with a boost clock of 4.1 GHz, much unlike the earlier chips and contrary to the rumours.

We recently covered Intel’s sTIM leaks, so it seems like that the chip will come with normal pTIM (aka Thermal Grease) which is not much of a problem given that 9100 is an entry-level chip with a locked multiplier.

AMD’s Radeon VII will cost Rs 54,990 in India

AMD’s flagship GPU, the Radeon VII has been internationally launched. Radeon VII is world’s first 7nm GPU and is said to compete with Nvidia’s RTX 2080.

Radeon VII has been launched internationally for $ 699 but will be available in India for Rs 54,990. The card comes with a whopping 16 GB of HBM2 memory and claims to offer an average of 26 percent more performance than AMD previous flagship Vega 64.

The card requires 300 W to run out of the box and comes with a free game bundle which includes three of 2019 most anticipated games, Resident Evil 2, The Division 2 and Devil May Cry 5. AMD allegedly didn’t gave it’s partner enough time to come up with their own designs, so you will most possibly get the same card but in different packaging.

All we know about Intel’s new core i9 9990 XE

Intel has always surprised us with the performance of its high-end chips. All those ‘Extreme’ series chips seem so powerful that they make our ‘normal’ chips seem obsolete.

Intel’s new i9 9990XE

Details of Intel’s core i9 9990 XE chip have surfaced, thanks to Puget Systems. The chip is OEM exclusive and will most probably not make it’s way to the consumer market. The new ‘extreme’ chip is embedded with 14 cores and 28 threads. The chip has a 4 GHz and 5.1 GHz base and boost clock respectively. The chip supports Quad channel memory with speeds up to 2666 MHz.

Core i9 9990 XE specs

The processor is based on Intel’s same old 14nm architecture. The 9990 XE, despite being a 14 core chip, is a very ‘power-hungry’ piece of hardware. The chip has a 255W TDP out of the box, and with great power, comes…..umm..great temperatures? Well, in our case, yes.
Reviewer Matt Bach tweeted that ‘Our traditional air coolers (stock Intel coolers) are not quite up to the task. Switched up to a Corsair H80i with push/pull fans and we are at least not breaking 90C under full load anymore.’

Perhaps it’s time for Intel to move to a more efficient architecture? What do you think about the new i9 9990 XE? Let’s us know in the comments below.
