Vampyr, Dontnod Entertainment’s narrative-driven action-RPG set in 1918 London, announces a content update coming later this summer on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This will include two new game difficulty modes which add further replayability for existing players and more options for those who haven’t yet sunk their teeth into this dark adventure.
As well as bringing a host of optimization tweaks, the upcoming update will introduce a ‘Story’ mode that de-emphasizes combat and a cranked-up, more challenging Hard mode. The Story mode places a greater focus on narrative, allowing players to experience Dr. Reid’s journey with less challenging combat. On the other end of the scale, Hard mode makes combat much more difficult. Players will receive less experience from killing enemies too, forcing them to rely even more on embracing citizens to grow in power.
In advance of the update Vampyr has a 25% discount on Steam, available now!
Vampyr is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. To order the game and for more details, visit vampyr-game.com.
Everybody is excited for Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 and it is now quite evident. The game has gone gold already, a full month prior to its release. The amount of effort that seems to have gone into creating this game is very visible, just from whatever we’ve seen till now and fans of Spider-Man are happy to finally get a game that might do justice to their beloved friendly neighborhood web-slinger. To celebrate this, Insomniac Games decided to recreate the very famous “And I’m Just Sitting Here” meme that uses the screenshot of the 1967 animated Spider-Man tv show as the template. The twitter thread is also great as Santa Monica Studio chime in with their own God of War reaction gifs which seems to be Insomniac Games’ inspiration for recreating the meme. The whole thread is very wholesome with gamers and renowned personalities coming together to congratulate them and talk about Spider-Man.
Spider-Man releases on September 7th exclusively to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. Developed by Insomniac games, this is a fresh new take on the Spider-Man IP which has you play as a veteran Peter Parker who has been fighting crime for almost a decade.

Denuvo is an Anti-Tamper and digital rights management (DRM) software employed by many game developers as a way of stopping their games from getting cracked and pirated. A huge number of players have spoken up against Denuvo and how it is bloated and can adversely affect a games performance, as it did in the case of Rime and many more have spoken about how DRM doesn’t really help increase game sales. Well, there was one man who decided to Revolt against Denuvo to provide games for free to the users to show the people that even Denuvo can be cracked. The man in question, Voksi, cracked multiple Denuvo games, many of which were using a different version of the Anti-Tamper software. His latest feats included the cracking of Dragon Ball FighterZ and Injustice 2.
It all started on 25th July when users noticed that Voksi’s site, revolt.group was redirecting to the Bulgarian Ministry of Internal Affairs site. Many thought that this was done by a hacker and was a scare tactic. However, on 26th July Voksi posted on a subreddit he frequented where he also showed off his methods to crack Denuvo. In his post, Voksi confirmed that he was visited by the police, his computer and server were seized and that he was arrested since Denuvo decided to file a case against him. He goes on to say that while the issue is not yet resolved, he will no longer be able to continue doing what he does and that this is the end of his career as a cracker.
Mark Mulready, Vice President of Cybersecurity Services of Irdeto had this to say. “Piracy is a threat that is now firmly established in the gaming industry, and we are focused on securing the content of game publishers and ensuring that hackers cannot distort the gaming environment for personal gain at the expense of other players”. Irdeto is the parent company of Denuvo after they acquired them earlier this year in January.
What’s next for Voksi is not yet known as he is still waiting to hear back from the law enforcement and Denuvo. There’s been a lot of support for him ever since this came to light since a huge majority of PC Gamers are against DRM of any kind, especially those that hog system resources and negatively impact a game’s performance. This has also caused people to question Denuvo and if they really want to help the PC Gaming scene or just want to profit off of it since they don’t seem to be fixing their DRM but rather seem to go after people and groups who are showing them up.
We would like to clarify that we at GamingMonk do not condone piracy of any sorts.

Steam is the biggest online market for video games and has a huge user base that has slowly been growing. While Steam is a name now synonymous with PC Gaming its User Interface and design never really caught up with the times which resulted in people using Skins to help modernize Steam. Well, Valve finally decided to do their own thing and have completely revamped the entire chat client with more updates being promised to the whole Steam Client.
The new Chat Client update was in Beta back when it was first announced in June but with most of the bugs squashed it’s been rolled out for everyone. This new update makes the Chat Client a lot more like Discord and features a lot of new features and upgrades. One of my personal favourites is the fact that chats don’t get erased now, so your older chats persist even after you’ve logged off and come back. Persistent Group Chats are also now a thing along with a much improved Voice Chat system. You can set your “favourites” so friends that you choose stay in a specific bar even if they’re offline allowing quicker access to their chats. The chat now groups by game so you can see if your friends decided to start a game of CSGO without you as you can see if they’ve lobbied together.
Another big change is the addition of inline images, gifs and videos in Steam Chat. It’s something that was really missing and now you can spam your friends with appropriate reaction gifs and memes. All these changes are also available on the browser version of Steam which is quite good. With all these changes Valve has stated that this is just the beginning of a lot of changes to come since they’ve built this using a new UI Framework along with a lot of architectural improvements under the hood. Hopefully, the Community Pages and Steam Store get a new look soon.
Oh, it’s true! It’s damn true! Celebrated independent video game developer Drinkbox Studios is launching its long-awaited, Metroidvania action-platformer Guacamelee! 2 on both PlayStation 4 and PC on August 21, for $19.99 / €19.99. Set in a unique world full of challenges, adventure and humor, Guacamelee! 2 expands upon the original game by introducing new levels, enemies, characters, and gameplay mechanics for the ultimate high-flying luchador experience.
Starting today, Guacamelee! 2 is available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store, and for wishlisting on Steam.
Guacamelee! 2 brings former hero Juan Aguacate out of retirement to stop a powerful and ruthless luchador who has emerged as the ruler of a parallel timeline. Juan must once again don his special luchador mask and tights, and fight his way through the worlds of the living and the dead (plus time and space) in an attempt to save his family… and the entire Mexiverse!
“We asked our inner skeletons what we should do for Guac 2,” said Augusto Quijano, Concept Lead at Drinkbox Studios. “We couldn’t decide whether to add Better Moves, More Interesting Platforming, Timeline Travel, Chicken Powers, or New Puns, so we added it all!”
• Powerful New Moves – New abilities such as Eagle Boost, Rocket Kick, and Pollo Shot add to Juan’s awesome arsenal of moves, for use in both combat and platforming.
• Super Chicken! – A unique set of new abilities and moves for Juan’s chicken form. Ridiculous chicken-based platforming, combat and exploration. More chicken than you’ll be able to handle (probably).
• Vibrant, Deadly World – An epic, colorful adventure, inspired by Mexican folklore, that takes players through living and dead worlds and across rifts in space-time! Beautiful environments and 2D animation, more gorgeous than ever thanks to a fancy new rendering engine.
• Lots to See – Dense gameplay areas featuring tons of secrets and optional content. Bigger maps, twice as many enemy types as the first game, and a roster of eccentric new bosses.
• Brand New Upgrade System – Discover “trainers” from around the world, defeat their challenges, and upgrade your movement, combat, traversal, and more.
• Caliente Original Soundtrack – Soundtrack featuring new music from Peter Chapman and Rom Di Prisco – composers of the original Guacamelee! OST. Additional new tracks from special guests Mariachi Entertainment System!
• 4-Player Local Co-op – Drop-in / drop-out 4-player local co-op through the entire story lets your best amigos join in anytime!
