Xbox One Adding Keyboard Mouse Support In Upcoming Update

Thought Keyboard and Mouse were PC specific? Think again. Microsoft has recently announced that they will be adding keyboard and mouse support on the Xbox One for select Xbox Insiders.

Xbox One Keyboard Mouse Support

This support will be added in an update that will drop in the coming few weeks and will be a game-by-game thing. It will be up to the developers of the game should they choose to implement the functionality in their game and even if they do, it won’t be enabled by default.

Microsoft states that most wired and wireless USB keyboards and mice will work but go on to say that they’re teaming up with Razer to “Bring you the best possible mouse and keyboard experience for this new functionality”.

The first game to have this feature is Warframe which will add the keyboard and mouse support in the coming next month. More news regarding what games will support this feature will be in Microsoft’s Inside Xbox show in November.

While keyboard and mouse were usable on PS4’s, they were only for navigation and typing so this is another good step forward that I hope other consoles also implement which will further reduce the gap between PCs and consoles, allowing people to game they are most comfortable with.

With Fallout 76’s release date creeping on us, Bethesda has released a new opening movie for the game. Additionally, they’ve announced details for the B.E.T.A, or the Break-It Early Test Application, as the studio likes to call it.

“During the B.E.T.A. one of our primary goals is to stress test and break the game. As such, the servers will not be running 24/7; instead, they’ll be online during targeted timeframes so we can get as many people as possible playing at the same time. Why? Because that’s the best way to put all our systems to the test and see how they respond.

On any given day the game might be up for anywhere between four to eight hours. Focusing as many players as we can into these windows is our prime objective. Then we’ll fix what we need to fix and do it again and again from the start of B.E.T.A. until a few days before launch. We’ll give you as much heads up as possible because we need you to log in during these times and play the game. We’ll also keep you posted through our official @Fallout and @bethesdastudios on Twitter as well as the Bethesda.net forums and our Bethesda.net Status Page to learn when servers will be online.”

The B.E.T.A will be out on the Xbox One on 23rd October, and on 30th October for the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. The full game will release on all three platforms on 14th November.

Epic Games Apologises for Unintentional Breast Physics in Fortnite

So much for keeping the kids safe 😛

This happens a day after Sony enables cross play on PS4. So much for keeping the kids safe :PRead more: https://wp.me/p9YzBb-Yx

Fortnite Season 6 just came out, and it has fans talking for more than one reasons. A major one being Calamity’s breasts, or rather their physics. The new skin for Calamity has considerably noticeable jiggle physics when she performs the Jubilation emote.

A short clip of the animation was shared on Twitter by Twitch stream FaZe, which got the attention of the fans as they shared it over the internet. The funny thing is, it doesn’t happen in the other emotes. For whatever reason, Jubilation is the only emote in which jiggle physics seems to be enabled.

Epic Games has issued an apology in response to this incident. They said it’s a mistake, and “is unintended, embarrassing and careless (for us) to let it ship”. Additionally, they’ve also disabled some elements of the animation system as they try to fix this issue. So, beware of some skins facing animation problems for a while.

Telltale Should Finish The Walking Dead & Treat Employees Right, Says God of War Director

Telltale Games shutting down their operations and laying off employees has already had a lot of backlash with a former employee suing the company in hopes of getting a severance package for all those who were laid off and many people seem to be in support of this.

One such person in support of this is Cory Barlog, the director of God of War and an industry veteran who took to Twitter to have his say on the matter.

This tweet was in response to Telltale Games’ tweet which stated that multiple potential partners had stepped forward to help complete the Final Season of The Walking Dead. Cory felt that while it is good that they don’t want to leave their consumers hanging, they should also be respectfully towards the ex-employees, most of which who worked hard on many of Telltale’s games.

Lawyer Richard Hoeg who helped various games journalist outlets out by explaining to them the different ways the class-action lawsuit could be handled and the various labour laws replied to Corey asking him whether or not he knew if there was any severance package in the employee agreement.

As seen from Corey’s reply, all the man wants is for them to be treated with respect and dignity since they worked tirelessly to create the games and put their heart and soul into the work. Seeing members of the industry step forward to stand up for the ex-Telltale employees and to help them out is good to see and goes to show that while there is a lot of competition and scummy things happening, there are also people who genuinely care about their craft and want others to excel at it too.

Battlefield V Bringing Major Changes After BETA Feedback

Open Betas for games these days seem to act as demos instead of an actual Beta for developers to take feedback from but DICE has actually listened to the community which is always good to see.

DICE made a new episode of Battlefield V Dev Talks to discuss the changes and feedback from the Open Beta.

They plan on balancing the War of Attrition mode by changing up the ammo count for weapons, reducing the number of Supply Stations due to the fact that players will now spawn with a Health Pouch. Instead of being prebuilt, Supply Stations will have to be constructed by players.

Player Visibility was an issue that many players felt needed to be fixed so DICE is doing just that. To do so they’re adding a distance haze to make players pop more and they will also make changes to the lighting levels and visibility to ensure that players don’t face this issue at launch.

Dying and Respawning is a very important part of the game and for a more fluid experience, DICE will be tweaking the respawn time based on how long you were Bleeding Out in an effort to allow players to shout for medical assistance without feeling like they’re wasting extra time. The revive shots will also be polished so that players can be seen and heard more easily.

Time To Kill and Time to Death will be getting tweaks as well with changes to weapon stats which means a lot of weapons will be rebalanced and also a full netcode pass since they seemed to have a glitch which allowed bullet damage to stack, leading to quicker deaths.

Players felt that the amount of vehicle types were not enough in Beta so DICE has stated that those were just a taste of what’s to come and the the full release will have a huge selection of vehicles to choose from. Speaking of vehicles, Extended Systemic Vehicle Damage will be coming to the game. This means that your tank just won’t straight up blow up but certain parts of it will stop working based on where it took damage from.

Air Combat will also be tweaked as planes will continually be worked on to make flying them feel better. Pilots and gunners will also get improved visibilty of enemies which means that they can also acquire ground targets so that they don’t get separated from the battle occuring on the ground. The full game will also release with plane upgrades like Radar and Parachute Flares so players can look forward to that.

That’s a solid gist of what DICE spoke about regarding the changes but if you’d like to know the full details check out their post here or you could watch the video linked above.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Is A Massive 105GB Install On PS4

Thanks to the Red Dead Redemption 2 bundle version of the PlayStation 4 Pro, we know how huge the install size will be. And when I say huge, I really do mean it so prepare your consoles.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will have an install size of 105GB. That’s a lot of data. This will make it Rockstar’s biggest game at launch and we can only imagine how much the size will increase once updates start dropping. The reason for the size could be due to the texture data since the game looks phenomenal and is absolutely massive in scale while also featuring over 200 animal species, about which you can read here. Another interesting thing to note from the box is that PlayStation users will get some online content 30 days before Xbox users.

Red Dead Online will support 2-32 players which is on par with GTA Online. It is quite likely that this will also be Peer-to-Peer instead of having dedicated servers.
