PUBG with Storymode? New Singleplayer Game Set in PUBG Universe under Development

The PUBG Corporation has announced a new PUBG game development studio, Striking Distance which will be headed by Glen Schofield, the man responsible for Dead Space, CoD MW3, Advanced Warfare and WW2.

The new studio, Striking Distance will work on a new, singleplayer narrative experience that will be set in the PUBG universe. This will be a brand new experience that won’t be a sequel to PUBG as stated by Glen.

Striking Distance is currently hiring developers to add to their team and seem to be hiring for both Singleplayer and Multiplayer related positions.

That’s all the info we have for now but this is a very interesting move from PUBG Corp. How the narrative experience shapes up will be something to keep an eye out for, especially with Call of Duty going back to it’s Modern Warfare roots and going for a very gritty and dark story.

How to play the Steam Summer Sale Grand Prix; Get Free Games

The Steam Summer Sale is back and has a game this year as well which rewards players for participating. But, this time around, the Summer Sale Grand Prix is a little bit confusing. Don’t worry though because we will help you understand how to participate in this. Before we start, make sure to arrange your Wishlist because you could have the game at the top of your wishlist gifted to you, more on that later.

How to Start:

To start, you will want to click on the Steam Grand Prix Summer Sale banner which will redirect you to the Grand Prix page. Once here, scroll down a little bit and click on “Join the Races”.

Choose your team, preferably the same team as your friends( Don’t pick Team Corgi though, it’s waaaaay in the lead right now). Once you’ve picked your team, the dashboard will open up. This is where it can get a little confusing.

The Boost Meter:

Here you have a thing called the “Boost Meter”. This basically acts as a way to increase your team’s speed and to move ahead in the race. So when you use the boost, you’re moving your team ahead. If you coordinate this with your friends and teammates, there’s a 0.1x multiplier.

The Boost Meter is filled with points and Nitro which is earned by partaking in Grand Prix Quests. Grand Prix quests are just objectives that are quite doable. There’s a lot of different games that have these quests and even just playing a game will give you points. For e.g. playing CSGO and winning a competitive match will give you 50 points. These points can be redeemed by clicking the particular quest and redeeming it after completing it.

The Boost Meter’s starting capacity depends on how much you’ve spent on Steam in the past. However, this capacity increases by 430 points for every Rs 100 you spend. It also increases by 100 points at the end of the day.

Attacking the Opposition:

When you use the Boost Meter, there is a 1-in-4 chance to get an Attack. Using this will slow down the team of your choosing. Using this with a 100 teammates at the same time will give a 0.1x multiplier to the attack.

Pitstop:

Every time you Boost your team, you receive coins. These coins can then be used at the Pitstop. Here, you can get Grand Prix themed Steam backgrounds and Chat Emoticons. You can also get a Grand Prix Badge and a Rs 120 discount code.

End of Race Prizes:

At the end of the races after 24 hours every day, the top three teams will receive Grand Prix points. The 1st team gets 3 points, the 2nd team gets 2 points and the 3rd team gets 1 point. In a similar fashion, 300 random users from the team that finished 1st will get the item on top of their wishlist gifted to them. For the 2nd placed team only 200 users will be given the top wishlisted item and for the 3rd place only 100 users.

At the end of the event, the Grand Prix points will be added up. The team that finishes 1st with the most points will be declared the winner. 1000 users of the team that finishes 1st will receive the top 3 games in their wishlist.

Similarly, the team that finishes 2nd will have 1000 users who will receive their top 2 games and the team that finishes 3rd will have 1000 users who will receive the top game in their wishlist.

So please, arrange your wishlist accordingly because you may or may not get a game gifted to you.

And that’s about it. Enjoy the Steam Summer Sale and make sure to arrange your wishlist.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Extended Gameplay Demo Truly Shows off the Game

One of the most anticipated games of this year is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which was showcased for the first time at E3, however the response it got was mixed because of how bland the game seemed. That wasn’t the case though as media persons who saw the extended demo said that there’s way more depth to the game and we finally get to see it in the Extended Gameplay Demo.

This gameplay demo is the same as the one that was shown to the media during E3 and does a better job showcasing all the various aspects of the game from the Metroid-like exploration to how it has been inspired by the Soulsborne games and Sekiro with their combat gameplay elements.

The first 10 minutes of the extended cut showcase so much of the game, like a look at combat with a Spider, using an AT-AT and how you’ll have to gain upgrades to open up new exploration paths. Further into the video, we get a look at the “bonfire checkpoint” system which restores our health and acts as a place to upgrade our skills as Cal meditates.

There’s a lot more depth to the game than meets the eye and hopefully at PAX and/or Gamescom we see more of this game and what it has to offer. The extended gameplay did give us a better look at the non-linearity of the planets and exploration and combat which has left us with a better impression than the first one.

Game Director, Stig Asmussen also realized that the E3 trailer didn’t showcase much and had a lot to say about the game which you can read about by clicking the link below.

Fortnite Raises Minimum Requirement Specs

Fortnite is a game that runs on a wide variety of platforms and systems, even on some really old PCs and laptops that are toaster PCs but that might change from Season 10 onwards.

In a recent blog post, the Fortnite team let people know that the minimum specs for Fortnite would be raised a little bit as it will now only support graphics cards that can run Microsoft DirectX 11. Before this, having a DirectX 11 GPU was recommended but now it is an absolute must.

If you’re one of the people who are using an integrated GPU to play Fortnite, as long as your CPU is a somewhat newer one, it will support DirectX 11. Anything above an Ivy Bridge CPU will run the game, so all the 4000 series and above.

The Fortnite Team explained this change by saying, “This allows us to focus our development and testing efforts to further optimize the Fortnite experience for all players.”

These changes will take effect from Season 10 onwards.

HITMAN 2: The Bank, New Mission set in New York

HITMAN 2 – New York is a new sandbox location that takes Agent 47 to the New York branch of the Milton-Fitzpatrick investment bank. Wear new disguises and use new items to complete the mission and earn new unlocks that can be used in all locations.

Agent 47’s mission at the bank takes place on a rainy day in New York where an investigation at the bank is in full swing. He must follow the money and eliminate the bank’s director to complete his objectives.

This really well-made trailer showcases the various disguises and activities for Agent 47 while building up one of the targets of the mission who seems to be a snobby lady who thinks most people are beneath her and has a snide remark for Agent 47 who is in disguise wearing a sweater.

The trailer ends with Agent 47 replying to her remark by saying, “Everybody needs a hobby, Miss Savalas”

“Over the years, Savalas has also developed a refined disdain for the middle class, reducing customers to numbers on sheets of paper with no thought to the things she destroys with her constant ‘less is more’ approach to small and medium-sized businesses. Rumors of wanton gambling with client money and the bank’s finances are beginning to catch up to her and with the board of directors looking for a new CEO of Milton-Fitzpatrick, Savalas is eagerly covering her tracks, using any means necessary.”

This bank level arrives on 25th June and will be available as part of Expansion Pack 1 and will be made available to SIlver and Gold Editions of the game as well.

More Ryzen 5 3600 Benchmarks Leaked; Zen 2 Looks Very Promising

The hype train for 3rd Gen Ryzen has left the station and with the release date drawing closer and closer, more and more leaks seem to be popping up. And all these leaks have one thing in common, Ryzen being an absolute beast.

Spanish website El Chapuzas Informático have released their R5 3600 benchmarks and they look very promising and seem to align with most of the leaks we’ve seen.

Single Core Test
Multi-Core Test

From these benchmarks, the 6c/12t Ryzen 3600 is outperforming the 8c/16t R7 2700X and also is very close to the i9-9900K. In the multicore benchmark, we see the R5 3600 outperform the R7 1700X and the i7-9700K.

Here’s another leak that shows the Ryzen 5 3600 score 197 in the single-core Cinebench R15 benchmark which aligns with the scores from El Chapuzas. And in the multi-core benchmark, it seems to go toe-to-toe with the i7-9700K and the i9-9900K at what seems to be same clock speeds.

These are really good showings from AMD if this is anything to go off of, I’m really curious to see how the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 CPUs perform because if the Ryzen 5 CPU is performing so well that too at a price point of around $200, the higher end CPUs might just be absolute beasts that have a chance to dethrone Intel’s high-end CPU market as well.

The launch for the Ryzen’s 7nm lineup is on 7/7 which is just about two weeks away, and closer to the release date we might get more solid info and once the embargo is lifted, we will really get to see how good this 7nm lineup is.

Do note that El Chapuzas has previously leaked benchmarks for Ryzen 2600 and Ryzen 2700X which were not 100%. The scores in some cases were accurate but in some were lower than the actual performance so take their benchmark results with a grain of salt. Their result is a pre-proper BIOS result.

My Friend Pedro – Insane Action S Rank Gameplay

Alright, stop, and look at this!

This is My Friend Pedro and it is awesome. It’s a fast paced side shooter with slow motion mechanic. Your character sees a Banana in his imagination, which tells him to kill everyone in order to escape the facility where he has been held prisoner.

What follows is some of the most insane over the top action I have ever seen in a video game – slow motion, back flips, bike chases, shooting while dangling off ropes, shooting while riding a skateboard, shooting while dodging bullets coming in from every direction – it’s just [email protected]#king rad!

Intel Rumoured to Cut CPU Prices by up to 15% Thanks to 3rd Gen Ryzen

If you’re someone who is looking to upgrade their CPU or get a new one, July might be a good time do so. Especially since there are a lot of rumours floating around about Intel slashing prices for their current line-up of CPUs thanks to the upcoming launch of the AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen CPUs.

As reported by DigiTimes, “[Intel] has already notified its downstream PC and motherboard partners, according to sources from motherboard players.” This is an interesting move thanks to the pressure put on by AMD with their Zen 2 line-up that seems to be going toe-to-toe or outperforming their Intel counterparts and even CPUs that are a bit above their level, especially in the Multicore benchmarks that have leaked.

Ryzen 3800 X SC Score: 5406 | Intel 9900K SC Score: 5211

While AMD has started using 7nm chips, Intel is still transitioning to 10nm and 7nm but have CPUs that outperform the Ryzen CPUs thanks to much higher IPC and Clock Speeds as compared to Ryzen which gives them an edge in Single-Core scenarios. However, the current leaks show that 7nm Ryzen is catching up to Intel which has maybe shaken Intel a little.

Intel also struggled in the past to produce its 14nm chipsets in the past which caused shortage problems. Intel may seem to be on the back foot for now but that won’t be the case for long because they’ve been in this game long enough and probably have something up their sleeve, ready to hit back at AMD.

While these two companies battle it out, it’s a great time to be a PC Enthusiast. RAM prices have dropped, CPU prices are most probably going to drop with the launch of 3rd Gen Ryzen and the GPU market might heat up soon thanks to AMD’s Navi lineup that we’re all waiting for with bated breath.
