GamingMonk Community Interview: Aman Warsi

Over the weekend we had the pleasure to talk to Aman Warsi one of GamingMonk’s highest earners as well as a passionate FIFA player who is well on his way to make a sustainable career out of his love for eSports and FIFA.

Here is a transcript of the interview:-

M = Manuviraj(Interviewer)

A = Aman Warsi(Interviewee)

M: How did you get into gaming?

A: I used to play casually with my friends and we mostly played PES. There was a gaming

parlour near my house and that’s where it all began. Later on, I heard about

GamingMonk and the GCS tournament. The first-ever LAN event I took part in was GCS

M: Do you see esports as a potential career for yourself and other Indians?

A: Yes of course. Take the example of FIFA ‘21, we are now eligible for global series which

opens up space for many new players. Many players are getting signed by professional

Teams. Look at PUBG Mobile, it made waves in the Indian esports scene. All in all if

you’re ready to practice and grind the game every day and if you have the determination

to do it, coupled with a little bit of family support, I don’t see why you can’t make a living

out of it.

M: Is your family supportive in this regard?

A: Yes absolutely, they support me every day and in every event that I take part in. They

take care of everything- from managing my expenses to planning my trips, what I am

today is because of my family.

M: You’ve played some PUBG tournaments too. What are your thoughts on the PUBG ban?

A: I think the nation comes first in this regard and the privacy and security issues are

really important to take into consideration.

M: What are your tips for other budding players?

A: I have seen some players who lose one game and with that, they lose all hope. I think

It’s about playing like you’re the best in the country and it shouldn’t make a difference

who your opponent is. When  I lose, I go back home and realize the mistakes that I

made and I try not to repeat them. You’re not gonna get the results every time and not

anytime soon so keep grinding, grinding and grinding.

M: Do you plan to pursue this(esports) for the foreseeable future as well?

A: Yes. My main goal currently is to qualify for the FIFA Global Series and I have already

told my parents that I’ll be taking a drop this year to pursue gaming. I want to get India

on the map of the FIFA esports scene because I know we have the potential.

M: Who are your favourite esports players?

A: In India, I look up to Saransh and Charan because to win a single tournament is one

thing but to keep winning takes a lot of skill and consistency. From abroad it has to be

Fnatic tekkz, I mean he’s only 19 and has been winning many tournaments.

M: How has GamingMonk helped you further your career?

A: I didn’t know a single name in the FIFA Indian pro-community before I joined

GamingMonk and it helped me find a community for myself. I got added into groups

which helped me improve my game. Also, the monetary aspect also helps because if you have nothing to show for the time you spent gaming, why would your family support you.

Best Scopes In Free Fire

Free Fire contains a wide array of attachments for all the guns available for use in the game. When it comes to scopes, it’s mostly personal preference but it seems that some scopes are better than others and offer more accuracy as well as visibility. In this article, we’ll take you through some of the best scopes available in the game across different distances.

Red Dot – The classic red dot sight is one of the best scopes in Free Fire and excellent for close to mid-range combat. It’s easy to come across and supports numerous guns. It has very high visibility due to it being very simple and minimalist. It allows for extremely precise shots as well as the ability magnification.

2x Scope – Best suited for mid-range combat, the 2x scope is also a favourite of many players and the precision sight picture makes it one of the cleanest scopes in the game. If you can get your hands on it, do use it and I promise you’ll love it.

4x Scope – Ideal for long-range combat, just attach it to your favourite sniper to take out your enemies with flair and ease. You can also attach it to your favourite AR and shred enemies at mid-range with ease. The 4x scope is much harder to come by than a 2x or red dot.

Thermal Scope – Although it’s not as widely used as the other scopes on this list, the thermal scope is still highly suited for aggressive players who want to take out campers/ The thermal optics make it extremely easy to detect campers. It does not offer as powerful a magnification as the 4x scope so keep that in mind before rocking it.

8x Scope – The most powerful scope in the game when it comes to magnification, the 8x scope can be used to take out enemies at extreme ranges. It’s only attachable to snipers and offers high precision at those long ranges. Though it’s really rare to come by, the scope has a wide appeal among professional snipers in the game. It’s usually good to have it during early game fights when the circle is big because it’s practically useless at mid to close range battles.

Fastest Characters In Free Fire

For newer and even seasoned players, movement speed makes a gargantuan amount of difference in-game. It is as important as your HP and damage. In Free Fire, the characters don’t have any HP differences but movement speed does vary. A faster movement speed allows for quicker flanks, quicker escapes, and quicker looting.

Kelly – Known as ‘Free Fire’s Sprinter’, Kelly’s dash ability gives you a 6% increase in movement speed which can be critical. It is rather weak when compared to the other characters in the game but nonetheless, she deserves a mention in this list. Kelly was one of the first characters added to the game which can explain this situation.

Caroline – Caroline has one of the better abilities in Free Fire. Her movement speed is increased by 8% whenever she’s rocking a shotgun and we have already explained to you the difference shotguns can make in your game here. If you’re planning to use the M1887, Caroline might just be your best bet.

Alok – Hands down one of the best characters in the game, Alok is overpowered which is mainly due to his ability called ‘Drop the beat.’ When active, this ability increases the running speed of Alok and his teammates within a 5-meter radius by 15% for 10 seconds. Honestly, just use Alok.

Joseph – He is the fastest character in the game. The catch is that he cannot activate his ability voluntarily. The ‘Nutty Movement’ passive ability increases Joseph’s movement speed by 20%, which way faster than any other character in the game. When you’re outside the safe zone, you can constantly use this to close in to the safe zone.

With season 9 around the corner, PUBG corporation teased a new map called Paramo. PUBG Corp. Claims that there are gonna be huge changes in the new season, especially because of the new map which they refer to being ‘dynamic.’ This means that the map will change from game to game which makes it all the more exciting and is something new to the world of BR games.

In a tweet which teased the release of this new map, Paramo looks really intriguing with PUB Corporation saying, “Paramo’s dynamic landscape will keep you guessing each drop!”

The features which will make the map dynamic are the volcanoes and the helicopter which may be controllable by the players. In the teaser, volcanic ash can be seen falling from the sky and sunshine is visible on some areas to the dismay of geographists.

There are buildings which can be seen changing along with the landscape which is sure to make the map more interesting. This also makes us guess whether the loot is also going to be dynamic and just how far PUBG Corporation is willing to take the integration to.

Season 8 is in its last leg and we can expect Season 9 to roll out soon. Season 8 ends on October 21 on PC and October 28 on consoles. Season 9 will also bring the solo ranked mode.

Since PUBG Mobile is banned in India, we’ll have to wait to see whether the update will come to mobile in other countries or not.

Free Fire: Best Long Range Weapons

Free Fire has a wide array of weapons available for players to use, but not all weapons are created evil, and one of the most important factors to consider while choosing your loadout is whether you play aggressively or passively. If you’re a more passive player and prefer to gain an advantage by taking out players before they see i.e you prefer mid to long-range combat then there are some guns to which are better than others. In this article, we’ll list down the best guns in Free Fire for long-range combat.

SCAR – The SCAR is one of the most beginner-friendly weapons in the game. It has low recoil and a high rate of fire which makes it effective at mid-range and sometimes even long range if you use burst fire. Remember to equip it with attachments to suit your needs and playstyle better.

AWM – The best sniper in the game by a huge margin, the AWM is ideal for players who are comfortable in very long-range engagements. It comes with a pre-attached 8x scope to take out enemies with ease. Also, it’s a one-hit kill if you manage to get a headshot. The only catch is that this weapon can only be obtained from drops.

AK – The AK has high damage and good range which makes it an effective weapon during mid to long-range combat. It has high recoil but the high damage and rate of fire more than make up for it. In the right hands, this is one of the deadliest weapons in the game.

Free Fire: Best Close Range Guns

If you’re wondering why you’re unable to win those close-range gunfights and you get downed before you even get a chance to react, try switching up your weapons and maybe make the switch to SMGs or shotguns to destroy people within range.

Most of you are well acquainted with the various ARs and Snipers in Free Fire but don’t rock a short-range option in your arsenal. If you’re looking for some good options, we’ve got you covered:-

MP5 – One of the best SMGs in the game, the MP5 is an absolute beast when used in close range combat. Its high rate of fire coupled with decent DPS makes it the go-to weapon for many good players. The low recoil is an added bonus. There are various attachments available in order to increase mobility, accuracy, etc.

M1014 – This shotty is a monster when it comes to close-quarters battles. Even though many people find shotguns cumbersome due to the high reload times, this one allows you to unload six shells before having to reload which if done correctly is more than enough to kill an enemy.

MP40 – If your go-to strategy is spraying and praying then the MP40 just might be the most ideal weapon for you. The weapon boasts of the highest rate of fire in Free Fire which makes it a beast when circumstances are dire. It also has a snappy reload mechanism along with a large enough magazine to take care of anyone who stands in your way.

Clash Royale: Tips and Tricks

In the mobile wargaming realm, Clash Royale is the best game available for all of you to play. It’s highly competitive and strategic which makes it a highly nuanced game. If you’ve been trying your hand at this game but are having no luck, hang on because we’ll go through some tips and tricks to help you get those wins.

Have a balanced deck: The number one thing you need to keep in mind when you play is that you should have a balanced deck. Keep melee combatants as well as archers in your deck. Have a balance of units too.

Tower Attacking Units: There are particular units designed to attack towers. One of the best ones is hog rider so be sure to be using him frequently. They are also focused which makes them immune to distraction if your opponent places a unit nearby on the battlefield.

Pair Units: Solo units are likely to get destroyed easily so be mindful of these and try to send out units in pairs. There are some combinations which are really effective, experiment and find out which ones are the best. You can add a giant in front of a balloon for protection and so forth.

Spells: Spells can help you gain advantage over your enemies and should be used when required. Some good spells include Freeze which stops enemy troops in their position for a few seconds, allowing you to gain an advantage or maybe take down an entire tower using Hog Rider. Zap is also an amazing spell which deals an extensive amount of damage.

Use Swarms: When facing big foes, the most effective way to take them out is to use swarms. Powered up goblins are also helpful as are skeletons. Minions inflict a lot of damage when in huge numbers but swarms are susceptible to fire arrows so keep this in mind.

HyperX Cloud Alpha S Blackout Review – for the minimalist gamer

It seems that HyperX is on a roll when it comes to India and has been releasing a lot of their iconic headsets for the Indian market. Earlier we had done a comprehensive review of the HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Wireless headset which is available to read here.

This time HyperX has come out with their new minimalist headset called the HyperX CLoud Alpha S Blackout Edition. Usually a different colour scheme isn’t much to write home about but there is certainly a dearth of such headsets in the market which makes it all the more important.

Exterior and Comfort

The latest variant in the Cloud S Alpha gaming headsets range sports a pure black exterior which also includes the HyperX logo at the side of the earcups along with branding on the textured headband. The logo is not too noticeable in most lighting conditions which adds to its minimalist appeal.

The deep black colour extends to the braided cable, cushioned ear cuffs, and the side bars.

The headset has been made keeping in mind the needs of gamers which means that playing for long hours is a breeze, thanks to the ergonomic design coupled with soft ear cuffs.

The ear cuffs are swappable – there is one made with soft leather that isolates noise really effectively and one made of fabric which doesn’t do a good job when compared to the former. It’s all personal preference when it comes to this though the leather ear cuffs tend to be a tad bit more comfortable.

Connectivity and Features

The headset has definitely designed keeping in view the needs of the PC gamer as it connects using a USB cable. The trademark feature laden inline controls are present here too, with a 7.1 Surround option button, volume controls, mute and unmute mic as well as an option to change the balance between voice chat and video game sound.

The inline controls attach to the headset using a 3.5 MM jack which means that if you ditch the inline controls you can connect your headset to your PS4 controller or phone.

As is expected with HyperX headsets, the audio quality is quite impressive and the virtual 7.1 surround sound works like a charm. The ear cuffs or the type of media you consume doesn’t make a difference at all. In fact music and video games sound especially punchier and rich using this headset.

HyperX has focused more on clarity instead of bass which makes the sound very clear and each footstep and gunshot can be clearly heard. Horror games are going to be one hell of a ride with this one.

The 7.1 Virtual Surround sound is also extremely effective and each minute detail is clearly audible.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha S is a great mid range headset and there are no compromises made- in the sound as well as the comfort department.
