AMD Announces GameOn 2018, Massive Showcase & Tournament, At ComicCon Hyderabad

AMD is hosting its third edition of its gaming and technology event – AMD GAMEON 2018, which is the biggest combined eSports tournament and expo in India for the year 2018. Playmax Interactive Pvt. Ltd. is the event partner. AMD GameOn 2018 will present a unique combination of an expo, a tech-fest and an esports tournament, with the aim to create a platform for all its associated ecosystem partners to showcase their latest technology in the gaming industry.

Pan India online qualifiers for CS:GO & DOTA2  have started on 20th September 2018. The qualifying teams will face-off India’s pro teams in the Quarters, Semi and Grand Finals, which will take place on the 13th and 14th of October 18 along with Comiccon, at Hitex Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad.

AMD Ecosystem partners will be showcasing latest technologies and products at the Expo, for which an excellent venue, with assured footfall of relevant target audience, is being setup. The event will be live streamed by Playmax to major social channels and event news, pictures, videos will be shared to all social media properties of AMD, Comiccon and Playmax.

Some of the activities at AMD GAMEON 2018 are:

  1. CSGO Semi finals to final, (following the online qualifiers)
  2. DOTA2 Semi finals to final (following the online qualifiers)
  3. PUBG & FORTNITE, Playmax Community Cup Solo LAN at Venue
  4. PlayStation Console Arena with PSVR and PS4 tournaments and free to play
  5. HTC VR Zone
  6. Motion Capture Zone
  7. AMD MOD RIG contest
  8. AMD New Technology showcase Zone
  9. Gaming Simulators Zone
  10. AMD Recruitment Zone
  11. Ecosystem Partner Stalls
  12. Online qualifiers and live event stream will be available on Playmax YouTube Channel “Playmax TV”

Prize pool is as below:

CSGO 1st Prize – INR 90000 – To be given on 2nd Day

CSGO 2nd Prize – INR 30000 – To be given on 2nd Day

DOTA 1st Prize – INR 50000 – To be given on 2nd Day

DOTA 2nd Prize – INR 25000 – To be given on 2nd Day

Individual PUBG – INR 10000 – To be given on 2nd Day

Individual FORTNITE – INR 10000 – To be given on 2nd Day

Individual CSGO Death-match Last hour match – INR 5000 (Optional) – Parked – TBD

Console Game – FIFA 18, WWE 18 – SONY/PLAYMAX (TBD)

Freeplay Prizes – 10 Nos. – INR 1000 worth Amazon Gift Cards. – TBD

MOD Rig Challenge – HTC Vive Boxed – Based on Judges Final score on 2nd Day

Tournament Format:

Single elimination for Both CSGO and DOTA2 in online group stages leading to 2 winners, to be invited to LAN finals at Hyderabad.

2 winners from offline qualifiers at Playmax on 6th and 7th October,

2 leading teams of India will be invited, 2 per game.

LAN event is single elimination bracket. Finals for both games is BO3.

For Fortnite and PUBG, we will use point system to determine the top 3 players after 4 matches.

CSGO:  2 winners from qualifiers, 2 from offline qualifiers at Playmax, 2 special invites

DOTA2: 2 winners from qualifiers, 2 from offline qualifiers at Playmax, 2 special invites

PUBG & FORTNITE: Top 3 players, ranked by point system after 4 matches
