ASUS Updates Strix and Zephyrus Line-Up With Intel 9th Gen Processors

ASUS is bringing its Strix and Zephyrus range of laptops to Intel’s latest 9th gen laptops. But if you think that’s all you’re getting in the refresh, you’re wrong. The displays are getting an update as well, with a whopping 240 Hz refresh rate.

The Zephyrus S GX502 comes with up to a Core i7-9750H, 32 GB DDR4 RAM, 1 TB SSD and an RTX 2070. On the other hand, the Zephyrus M GU502 has an i7-9750H and 32 GB RAM, but up to an RTX 2060. There’s a third, more affordable version as well, the Zephyrus G GA502, which includes a Ryzen 7 3750H, a GTX 1660 Ti, 32GB RAM and a 512GB SSD.

These laptops are incredibly slim with a thickness of just 0.7 inches. They’re impressively light as well, weighing just under 5 pounds. The design is mostly similar to what we’ve seen in the previous Zephyrus entries, with a brushed aluminium finish. What’s different, however, is that the keyboard is now more conventional instead of the forward facing version. The display’s a delight to boot as well, with options going up to 240 Hz for the GX502 and the GU 502, while the GA502 caps at 120 Hz.

Additionally, the Strix line-up is getting the 9th gen revamp too. The Scar III and the Hero III models both have options for Core i7 and i9 processors. The laptops can have either GTX 16 series for GPU or opt to go for the higher end RTX models. As with the Zephyrus, you can choose to go for a 240 Hz display if you wish, or settle for a 144 Hz panel.

They have a new feature called the ‘keystone’, which is a removable NFC module that lets users transfer their gaming profiles to other devices. It’s actual usefulness, however, still needs to be determined. There’s a less expensive, Strix G model which takes off the keystone for a lower price, but still has a 9th gen i7 and a GTX 1660 Ti. These laptops should be available in India in July.
