Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot the RPG-esque Dragon Ball Z story that goes through the story of Son Goku has gotten a release date as well as a confirmation that Buu Saga will be in the game.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is set to release worldwide on 17th Jan 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. And along with the official release date, we get a teaser for the Buu Saga with everyone’s favourite character, The Great Saiyaman.
The Great Saiyaman is present in all his glory with his amazing dance-pose. Alongside that, we also get quick cuts of various important events that take place during the Buu Saga like the Dabura turning people to stone and Majin Vegeta sacrificing himself.
We’ll probably be getting a much longer look at the Buu Saga soon and hopefully maybe a tease at the events after or before the story of Dragon Ball Z.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot had been shown up until Freiza Saga before, now we have footage of the game that features parts of the Cell Saga.
As seen from the trailer, Gohan will also be a playable character, especially during the Cell Saga. So not only do we get to play as Goku but we also get to play as Gohan. We see scenes of Goku taking care of Gohan and spending time with him.
We also see Gohan fight against Cell after Goku sacrifices himself but the coolest part of the trailer was when Goku was driving Gohan around. Goku finally got a driver’s license and we will finally be able to drive a vehicle as Goku.
The game has been accidentally announced to go up until the end of Buu saga by Sean Schemmel the voice actor of Goku so we can hope to see more story-based gameplay soon.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is the story of Son Goku however, it doesn’t mean that we’ll only get to play as the titular character.
According to V-Jump, a Japanese Manga Magazine we will get to not only play as Son Goku but also his first son, Gohan, his rival Vegeta and his other rival and child’s step-father, Piccolo.
The story of Gohan’s training under Piccolo will be expanded upon and we’ll get a much closer look at how their relationship grew, as well as how he shaped Gohan into the Warrior that we see by the end of Z.
We hope that since they’re expanding on this, we also get to see the first time Vegeta becomes a Super Saiyan and Goku turning Super Saiyan 3 in the Other World.
Tien, Yamcha, and Chiatozu are confirmed to be supporting characters and will join your party to help you during your battles. Tien and Yamcha have found a new level of respect as fighters thanks to Dragonball FighterZ and it would’ve been cool to perform some of their moves in the gang like the Shin-Kikoho or Wolf Fang Fist.
