Dying Light, the fun zombie-parkour survival game has received over 10 DLCs in 12 months even 3 after release in 2018. Now that Dying Light 2 has been announced, we didn’t think Dying Light would not get any more content updates but we were wrong.
In an interview with gamesindustry.biz Tymon Smektala, Lead Designer at Techland, said a small team is still making DLC for the original game. According to Tymon, this idea came to them the night before E3 where they had a meeting and discussed adding more content to the original game.
One of the reasons stated was they could experiment with mechanics or items by putting them in the DLC and then seeing if the players enjoyed it. This would work as a way to figure out whether or not a certain gameplay mechanic will be good for the sequel.
The other reason was because of how amazing of a community the game has. They’ve supported the game for almost 4 years after release and believe that their community will be the one who will spread information about Dying Light 2,
Dying Light 2 releases in Spring 2020 so maybe we can see the DLC drop before that and like the Borderlands 2 DLC, it might tie-in with the story of the sequel.
