The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Announced for Switch

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening has been announced for the Nintendo Switch and is set to release in 2019.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for the Switch is a remake of the 1993 Gameboy title that is considered to be one of the best titles in the series. The game takes place after the events of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, another fantastic title.

This is also one of few games that take place outside of Hyrule itself and doesn’t include Princess Zelda or any of the regular main characters of the series, including those that were present in A Link to the Past.

For the Nintendo Switch, the game has been giving similar visual treatment like A Link Between Worlds on the Nintendo 3DS but even more visually improved. The game has a very cute aesthetic that makes you feel like it is one of those old claymation videos that used to play on TV when you were a kid.

The lighting also looks really gorgeous along with bright, saturated colours and a slight depth of field effect giving it a tilt-shifted look. The music in trailer perfectly complimented the visuals with a very upbeat and a somewhat tropical rendition of the very famous “Overworld Theme” which has become the main theme for the series.

After recently finishing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I wanted to play some of the older titles and this announcement came at the perfect time. While there’s no fixed release date, the game will release in 2019 and I’m extremely excited to get my hands on this game.
