Need for Speed is a beloved series that has slowly lost its identity over time and just hasn’t been the high of Underground, Most Wanted and Carbon. Maybe that will change with the next Need for Speed title that will be unveiled on 14th August
The above screenshot is from EA’s website for Need for Speed. Its countdown ends on 14th August at approximately 7:30PM. Not much is known about the game at this point but we do know the developers ‘are listening to the fans’ and “know the essence of the game” according to various posts on social media platforms and Discord.
As of this moment, the “Brake to Drift” mechanic from the recent Need for Speed games will be making a comeback but this could have changed over the last few months. This is going to be made by the same devs as Need for Speed Payback which had an absolutely abysmal upgrade system. All your upgrades were up to luck and you couldn’t get the parts you wanted in it since it was basically a lootbox.
For the new game though, they want the upgrade system to be better and more in-depth than NFS 2015 and NFS Payback. And we really hope they do make it so because there is nothing worse than not being able to tune your car with the parts you want in a game that is all about street racing and tuning.
Thankfully we have to wait just 2 more days to see what the new game is like and since the game releases in October this year, we’re going to get to see a lot more about it after this reveal.
