  • Life is Strange 2 (PS4, Xbox One, PC) – Adventure-Fans rejoice: Life is Strange 2 is coming to Gamescom 2018 as a world premiere. Not only will the development team share all the details about the highly anticipated sequel to the award winning and critically acclaimed Life is Strange – it will be playable for the first time at the Square Enix booth on the Gamescom show-floor.

  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider (PS4, Xbox One, PC) – The themes of Shadow of the Tomb Raider have their influence on the appearance of the Square Enix booth as well: the area is set up in the style of an imposing Mayan pyramid with numerous game stations. Visitors can get an even more intense feel for Lara Croft’s biggest adventure yet with a demo version of the action adventure.

Visitors can go and experience all these games at the Square Enix Booth as well buy products exclusively available at Gamescom.

FIFA 18 eWorld Cup Kicks Off!

The FIFA eWorld Cup 2018, formerly known as the FIFA Interactive World Cup has kicked off!  Over the course of 9 months, 20 million players participated in the qualifiers but out of those 20 million today, only 32 players remain. These 32 players will fight for the title of the best FIFA 18 player in the world and along with it a cash prize of $250,000.

Last year’s Champion, Spencer ‘Gorilla’ Ealing

The tournament follows the actual World Cup in many ways. The tournament fixtures start off with the Group Stages, followed by the Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and then the Grand Finale. However, there is one difference. This tournament takes place using the Ultimate Team mode so expect Brazilian Ronaldo teaming up with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to play against a team that also has Messi and Ronaldo.

Another way in which it follows the actual World Cup is with its anti-doping measures. Starting this year, FIFA will be testing the players for performance enhancers like Adderall. They will be following the regulations set by the WADA (World Anti-Doping Association) and players who are found to be breaking these rules will be punished. The tournament is taking places in London and will end after the Grand Finale at 6PM GMT on Saturday, August 4th. The matches will be streamed on Youtube, Twitch and Facebook.

PlayStation Plus Games: August 2018

Mafia III and Dead by Daylight are your PlayStation Plus games for August

If you’re sat reading this in naught but your underwear, with a bag of ice tucked under each arm and an electric fan whispering sweet nothings in your general direction then please know that we don’t blame you, friend – we really don’t.

As the scorching summer continues to roast much of the northern hemisphere, here at PlayStation we’ve been using the good weather as an excuse to celebrate all things PlayStation Plus.

Continuing the Summer of Plus, this week members can pick-up extra savings in our massive Summer Sale, grab some cheeky freebies for Fortnite, Fallout Shelter and H1Z1: Battle Royale and next week, you’ll be able to download two additional bonus titles alongside your usual monthly games.

And on the subject of monthly games, it’s that time again. Here are the titles you can download from 7th August:

Mafia III

First up this month, we’re heading back to the not-so-swinging ’60s of America’s inner-city ‘Deep South’ for a brutal story of criminal enterprise, family feuds and bitter racial tensions.

As returning African-American war veteran Lincoln Clay, it’ll be up to you to cut a trail of destruction through the seedy underworld of New Bordeaux – a re-imagined version of New Orleans -settling scores with old rivals, forging new alliances and building a criminal empire.

A slick open-world action adventure that combines driving, shoot-outs and exploration, Mafia III’s refreshingly different setting and tight scripting make for a tense and immersive experience.

Dead by Daylight

Staying with a distinctly cinematic theme, this month’s second title takes a hot slice of ’80s pulp horror and mixes it with modern asymmetric multiplayer to create one of the most unique online experiences on PS4.

The set-up is straight-forward: four players enter a nightmarish online arena and must work together to escape a fifth player, a lone maniacal killer whose job it is to dispatch them before they can escape.

What mixes up each round is the variety of players you’re matched with. Their motivations – (are they out for themselves or the whole team?), their evasion skills and approach to collaboration makes all the difference.

The cherry on the top? You can play as – or indeed, run like hell from – iconic big screen charmers like Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger and Leatherface – as if childhood nightmares hadn’t scarred you enough!

Knowledge is Power

The perfect game for those long, lazy summer evenings, Knowledge is Power pits up to six players against one another in a race to the top of the Pyramid of Knowledge. Inch your way up by answering questions, completing tasks and occasionally trying to trip up your fellow contestants, all in the name of jolly-good fun.

And you can put those Dualshock controllers down – as a Playlink title, Knowledge is Power needs nothing but your handy smart phone.

Here They Lie
Dark psychological horror meets the unparalleled immersion of PlayStation VR – what could possibly go wrong?

An excellent test of nerve for those with gumption, Here They Lie is a surreal, unsettling journey through an otherworldly realm filled with strange, malevolent creatures and unpredictable environments.

Brave its horrors and you’ll uncover a mystery buried at the heart of this feverish nightmare and perhaps answers to questions you’d dared not even ask – and you thought you’d sweated enough this summer!

Anything else?

As usual, we’ll be adding two additional games for both PS3 and PS Vita to the line-up. The final roster looks like this:

• Mafia III (PS4)

• Dead by Daylight (PS4)

• Knowledge is Power (PS Plus Bonus – PlayLink)

• Here They Lie (PS Plus Bonus – PS VR required)

• Bound by Flame (PS3)

• Serious Sam 3: BFE (PS3)

• Draw Slasher (PS Vita)

• Space Hulk (PS Vita)

All these will be available to download from 7th August.

Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 Has Gone Gold

Everybody is excited for Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 and it is now quite evident. The game has gone gold already, a full month prior to its release. The amount of effort that seems to have gone into creating this game is very visible, just from whatever we’ve seen till now and fans of Spider-Man are happy to finally get a game that might do justice to their beloved friendly neighborhood web-slinger. To celebrate this, Insomniac Games decided to recreate the very famous “And I’m Just Sitting Here” meme that uses the screenshot of the 1967 animated Spider-Man tv show as the template. The twitter thread is also great as Santa Monica Studio chime in with their own God of War reaction gifs which seems to be Insomniac Games’ inspiration for recreating the meme. The whole thread is very wholesome with gamers and renowned personalities coming together to congratulate them and talk about Spider-Man.

Spider-Man releases on September 7th exclusively to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. Developed by Insomniac games, this is a fresh new take on the Spider-Man IP which has you play as a veteran Peter Parker who has been fighting crime for almost a decade.

The Evolution of Kratos

The God of War has been in the limelight lately due to the release of God of War which is a sequel as well as a soft reboot. Kratos wasn’t always this bearded man with scars all over his body. When his journey began, he was a Spartan soldier with flesh that was similar to the colour of his fellow Spartans, however soon his skin would turn to the colour of ash which would lead to him being nicknamed “The Ghost of Sparta”. So, let’s have a quick look at how he’s evolved over the years.

The Evolution of @God of War's Kratos in a minute!

The Evolution of @God of War's Kratos in a minute!

GamingMonk यांनी वर पोस्ट केले शनिवार, ७ जुलै, २०१८

Kratos has evolved from being a blocky 3D model to a lifelike person over the years with the recent God of War having an extremely realistic looking Kratos which can be attributed to the Motion Capture that was used on his voice actor. He went from having a goatee to a full-on badass beard to accompany all the scars he’s gathered over the years of fighting and killing Gods. Through the years though, there’s one thing that hasn’t changed about Kratos and that is his intense glare that could stop even the strongest and fiercest of creatures dead in their tracks. We can’t wait to see how his character physically evolves in the sequel with maybe more Nordic touches to his character.

PlayStation Plus Games: July 2018

Your PlayStation Plus games for July are Absolver and Heavy Rain

Phew! Well, that was one heck of an E3. Not only did we get to show off a whole raft of awesome exclusives, we also kick-started our massive Summer of Plus campaign, which will be bringing exclusive benefits to PS Plus members all throughout the summer.

During our E3 Showcase we announced Call of Duty: Black Ops III would be joining PS Plus as a special bonus title, available to download until 11th July (you can grab it here) and we’ll have more exclusive discounts and extras in the weeks and months ahead. Stay tuned for all that and more, or head over to PlayStation.com for all the latest offers.

Just like always, we’ve also got our monthly line-up of games and wouldn’t you know it, it’s that time of the month again. The following are available for download from 3rd July:

Absolver

Dust off your knuckles, it’s time to get your hands dirty. Part RPG, part fighting game, part shared-world online brawler, Absolver stands alone as something a little bit different.

What’s really special is how well it all meshes: playing either PVE or PVP you’ll set out into the lost empire of Adal as a humble prospect and build your own combat style as you progress, picking up weapons, meeting new combatants to hone your skills against or befriending fellow travellers to spar with, trade secrets and impart fighting wisdom.

If you’re looking for a unique online experience to play with or against friends and enjoy mastering deep gameplay mechanics, Absolver is the perfect thing for you.

Heavy Rain

Hot on the heels of the hugely successful Detroit: Become Human we’re keeping the Quantic Dream train rolling throughout July by revisiting its break-out PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain.

Set in a rain-soaked recreation of Philadelphia, you’ll follow the trail of a mysterious serial murderer known as the ‘Origami Killer’, through the actions of four main characters, each connected somehow to the criminal.

You’ll be challenged to make tough decisions and search for clues that will help track down the killer and save a missing child.

A deep, atmospheric narrative-driven gameplay experience, Heavy Rain established the branching story-telling approach which has become Quantic Dream’s signature. Remastered now for PS4, the game looks and plays better than ever. If you love a slow-burning crime drama, or have only recently discovered the studio’s work, then you’re in for a treat.

Anything else?

We’re topping off those two titles with a pair of games each for PS3 and PS Vita leaving July’s final line-up looking like this:

Absolver (PS4)

• Heavy Rain (PS4)

• Rayman 3 HD (PS3)

• Extreme Exorcism (PS3)

• Space Overlords (PS Vita + PS4)

• Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma (PS Vita)

Not only this, as mentioned above Call of Duty: Black Ops III, is also available from now until 11th July as part of the monthly games line-up, so grab it while you can.

July’s regular line-up will be available to download on PlayStation Store from 3rd July.

E3 2018, Sony has set the bar high unbinding it’s top acclaimed games.

For the past few years we’ve seen PlayStation put up a great show when it comes to delivering triple A’s, this year wasn’t any different.

Blockbuster titles from  leading developers like Naughty Dogs (The makers behind Last of us), Hideo Kojima etc really makes it a bad time to own an Xbox! To be honest I was always an Xbox fan but to my luck I got my hands on God of War & I just can’t go back, PlayStation never fails to impress when it comes to exclusives.

Here are our top picks from the conference.

Last of Us 2

The conference kicked off with Naughty Dog’s famed classic, Last of Us, only if the first part wasn’t good enough, they’ve come up with the sequel. The trailer starts off with Ellie W/ her girlfriend at a party & skip to 30 seconds & it’s a flashback to killing a bunch of people & surviving her way through. Stealth centred gameplay with ground breaking graphics in the dark lighted environment truly makes it a one of kind experience.

Spider-man

Marvel’s spider-man provides us with a new thrill into the world of danger, It will cover both the Peter Parker and Spider-Man aspects of the character, set in the modern day New York City, the trailer starts off with Spider-man jumping right into action, after a prison outbreak & stumbles on Electro, Rhine & Scorpion, juggling his way through them to face all 5 main enemies as he gets his back against the wall. The action-adventure includes a lot of fighting, the combat is compelling & provides a unique experience, abilities include web slinging and wall-crawling as well as new gameplay elements, one of which will be the ability to traverse using parkour. The game is set for a release on 7th September, 2018.

Death Stranding

Produced by the industry’s very own Hideo Kojima, the father of survival horror, the terror was unleashed in the live reveal at E3. We’re as confused as anyone else but the trailer gives us more insight as to what the game has to offer which includes an invisible creature who roams around freely in the unknown world. Starring Norman Reedus, the protagonist sets out to explore the world with a body hanging entrapped in a bag pack. The more I try to make sense of the game, the confusing it gets. Please watch the trailer & come back to it. Pheww!

Control

From the makers of Quantum Break & Max Payne, Control is a time-control game, players will take the role of Jesse Faden, who becomes the new director of the “Bureau of Control. The trailer includes a lot of action on similar grounds at par with Quantum Break where we saw time control as a ability to counter your enemies & a lot of slo-mo shooting. Watch the trailer to find out more.
