Top 5 Upcoming Games of the Month – October 2018

Last month was filled with some great game releases, from Marvel’s Spider-Man to FIFA 19. And if you think that the train is about to slow down, well, think again. October is here, slapping us in the face with some more highly anticipated titles. Like always, we’re here with a quick round-up of the biggest games coming out this month.

1. Forza Horizon 4

  • Release Date: October 2
  • Platforms: Xbox One, Windows PC

Delhi streets may not let us drive in peace, but thankfully, we have Forza Horizon 4 to save us. For the first time in the racing genre, you can experience dynamic seasons as you drive around with friends (or foes) in a shared open world. There are over 450 cars to collect and some breathtaking Britain views just waiting to be explored. The game drops on October 2 and is available for the Xbox one and the Windows PC via Xbox Play Anywhere.

2. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

  • Release Date: October 5
  • Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC

From the sprawling deserts of Egypt to larger-than-life Greek statues (and their private parts, apparently), Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the 11th major title in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. It is set 400 years prior to Origins, where you get to play as a mercenary, exploring Ancient Greece as you fight your way to glory. Contrary to the previous games, Odyssey has a greater emphasis on RPG elements, with choice-driven gameplay and multiple endings. The game will be available on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on 5th October.

3. WWE 2K19

  • Release Date: October 9
  • Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC

Everyone’s favourite wrestling game is back, this time with AJ Styles on the cover. New and improved animations, and even better graphics with some crazy extensive character creation options – it’s all there. While you’re not busy Royal Rumbling with your friends, you can slam and whack your opponents in MyCareer, the game’s original story mode voiced by the real WWE Superstars. WWE 2K19 will be released on 9th October for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, though you can pre-order the Deluxe Edition and get early access on 5th October.

4. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

  • Release Date: October 12
  • Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC

Getting in on the battle royale action, Black Ops 4 is the latest entry in what used to be the greatest FPS series, once upon a time. Unlike the previous titles in the series, the game will be ditching a single player campaign and focus more on the multiplayer and battle royale. The good thing, however, is that we tried the Blackout beta in September, and it looks promising. Black Ops 4 will be out on October 12 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC

5. Red Dead Redemption 2

  • Release Date: October 26
  • Platforms: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Eight years after the first game, and 5 years after GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally coming out this month. Like its GTA counterpart, the game will have an online multiplayer component, that lets you play either cooperatively or competitively with the community. The PS4 download size is a whopping 105GB, so those with a 500GB model, it’s time to say RIP. The game will have a huge map and over 200 animals that you can hunt. Oh, and shrinking horse testicles! That’s right people, we’ve reached a whole new level of realism in video games. Red Dead Redemption will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26.
