Choices in this world aren’t as easy as they seem and holding power over people has a cost as heavy as the responsibility you feel in caring for them.

Everwild Announced For Xbox And PC

Even for a studio with as long and rich a legacy as Rare, today has been a special day.

At this evening’s X019 event in London, we were able to share with fans some of the incredible things that the different teams at Rare have been working on. This included talking about the next monthly update for Sea of Thieves, as well as giving fans a first glimpse of the next new IP from Rare, Everwild.

It reminds me of the last time we made two big announcements at an event, which was E3 2015 where we announced Rare Replay and showed the world the first glimpse into our unique vision for Sea of Thieves. This feels as big a moment for Rare as it did in 2015.

While Everwild is still early in development, we are very excited about the unique potential of the game we are creating. The Everwild team is focused on building an experience that allows for new ways to play in a natural and magical world. The development team, led by Executive Producer Louise O’Connor, is creating something truly original and incredibly special that aims to be more than just a new IP. Everwild will give you memorable, engaging and meaningful experiences for players everywhere to share. We cannot wait to share more with you in the future.

We are also pleased to share the next free monthly update to Sea of Thieves, The Seabound Soul, arriving on November 20. This update features an all-new, lore-focused Tall Tale mission for players looking to play their part in a thrilling story. Join Captain Pendragon to uncover the mystery of the feared ship, the Ashen Dragon, and reveal the secrets of a sinister new threat. For those yet to play a Tall Tale, these narrative driven stories are our take on a “campaign” but set within a rich shared world of Adventure. This update also brings the heat to Sea of Thieves with the introduction of firebombs! This explosive ammo can be thrown or loaded into cannons to put a fiery panic in the hearts of opposing crews in both Adventure and in The Arena. Added to this there are new commendations and cosmetics to earn and buy in the Pirate Emporium. You can play Sea of Thieves on Windows 10 PC, Xbox One and with Xbox Game Pass.

Having two large games in development represents a tremendous opportunity for Rare and the talented staff here as we grow and further evolve the studio to meet the challenges of simultaneously operating a successful live service and being in pre-production for a new IP. While Everwild and the team building it will get everything they need, we are still fully committed to Sea of Thieves — Joe, Mike, Shelley and the team still have plenty of creative ideas and plans to bring to Sea of Thieves for a long time to come and we have a number of central teams that support both games.

Finally, on behalf of everyone at the studio I’d like to thank all the fans for their tremendous support for Rare, from the millions of players who play Sea of Thieves to those that engage with our community playing together and sharing stories. It means a huge amount to us and it’s the passion of our fans that inspires our team to create the kind of games the world doesn’t have that are uniquely Rare.

The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition Available on PC and Xbox One

Today, Telltale and Athlon Games launched The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition. Shadows Edition brings a sinister new look to the Telltale Batman Series adding a noir-style visual makeover and graphical upgrade to the critically acclaimed and much-loved games.

The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition, which includes the Batman: The Telltale Series base game and new noir style DLC, is available for players to purchase now on Xbox One and Steam, Epic Game Store, PlayStation 4 in Europe and Nintendo Switch in the near future, from £23.96. Players who already own the base game can add Shadows Mode as stand-alone DLC from £3.99.

Earlier this year, Telltale and Athlon Games struck a publishing agreement for five popular Telltale Games back catalog titles, including Batman 1 & 2 and The Wolf Among Us, which are currently available for fans to purchase. A leading creator of interactive storytelling, Telltale Games titles represent a collection of unique and powerful story driven narratives that invoke fond memories for fans worldwide.

“We’re excited to be able to build and continue the legacy of this iconic Telltale Games franchise by launching The NEW Telltale Batman Shadows Edition today,” said Brian Waddle, Chief Revenue Officer at Telltale. “For the holiday season, we wanted to offer fans old and new a fun twist on the series with the first of many planned initiatives. All of us at Telltale are working hard to build a great studio, delivering great content. We hope everyone will stay tuned for more announcements in the coming months and, for now, enjoy playing in the Shadows.”

Batman: The Telltale Series cast players into the fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne in a dark and violent original story and challenges players with discovering the powerful and far-reaching consequences of choice as the Dark Knight. As Batman, players will encounter classic allies and adversaries, and will learn the true meaning of what it means to be the man behind the cowl as Bruce Wayne.

Stone Coming To Xbox One on December 11

About the Game

  • Stone is a Hip-Hop Stoner Noir that follows the story of a hungover, loveable, fat koala who literally is a huge dick: He’s a 200-pound private investigator koala trying to put together the pieces from the drunken night before to find his “chookie” Alex, a lorikeet raver and artist.
  • Stone encourages players to explore Oldtown, a place that is filled with bars, clubs and lawn bowls – the kind of places you’d expect a koala like Stone to enjoy spending time in.
  • Stone unfolds as an interactive story inspired by old school adventure games, minus the infuriating point-and-clickiness and overly vague puzzles, but plus some sweet music, public domain cinema classics, side games, and features a bunch of trash-talking animals with hilarious accents and substance abuse problems.
  • Stone uses a “hard-ass” or “soft-touch approach” in his conversations as they search for clues to Alex’s whereabouts and wants to know what the fuck happened last night.
  • Stone needs your help as he stumbles in and out of his local haunts, retracing his steps form the night before and interrogating his mates and local business owners for any morsel of information about the disappearance of his beloved chookie.

Key Features

  • Inspired by classic stoner-noir films, underground art forms and writers such as Charles Bukowski, Ernest Hemingway, Hunter S. Thompson, and Thomas Pynchon.
  • Take a “hard ass” or “soft-touch” approach while conversing with an insane cast of characters with hilarious accents and an attitude problem to figure out what the fuck happened last night.
  • Spend time watching public domain films, exploring diverse locales, going clubbing, drinking, smoking, and chilling.

Xbox Project Scarlett Finally Revealed as Xbox Series X

Here are the first details, via Microsoft:

Power Your Dreams with Xbox Series X, Available Holiday 2020

For eighteen years and three console generations, the Xbox community has shown us the power both games and fun can have on all of us. As we enter a new generation of gaming, we see a future where you’re instantly absorbed in your games—where worlds are even more lifelike, immersive, responsive and surprising—and where you are at the center of your gaming experience. With the new Xbox Series X, we will realize that vision.

Xbox Series X will be our fastest, most powerful console ever and set a new bar for performance, speed and compatibility, allowing you to bring your gaming legacy, thousands of games from three generations and more forward with you. Its industrial design enables us to deliver four times the processing power of Xbox One X in the most quiet and efficient way, something that is critically important in delivering truly immersive gameplay. We also designed Xbox Series X to support both vertical and horizontal orientation. It’s bold and unique, very much like our fans around the world and the team of collaborators and innovators who built it.

The name Xbox is an expression of our deep history in gaming, our team’s unrelenting passion, and our commitment to both our fans and the future of gaming at Microsoft. It also signifies our belief that a gaming console should be for just that – gaming.

Alongside Xbox Series X, we also unveiled the new Xbox Wireless Controller. Its size and shape have been refined to accommodate an even wider range of people, and it also features a new Share button to make capturing screenshots and game clips simple and an advanced d-pad derived from the Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller. The new Xbox Wireless Controller will be compatible with Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, and will be included with every Xbox Series X.

The possibilities of what Xbox Series X enables developers to achieve was also brought to life this evening with the unveiling of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. A sequel to the award-winning Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice from world-renowned developers Ninja Theory, the game is being built to leverage the full power of Xbox Series X. The footage shared tonight was captured in-engine and reflects the power of Xbox Series X available to developers to deliver new universes, experiences and games in ways you have never imagined.

Bringing Developers’ Dreams to Life with Xbox Series X

Games today deliver amazing visuals and tell an array of different and deep stories. That’s why, when we started work on Xbox Series X, it was vital we continue to advance state-of-the-art visual capabilities for developers, while also ensuring they could realize even greater feeling, emotion and empathy in their games. With Xbox Series X, we will elevate the way games look, play and feel. We will also remove the technical barriers faced in previous generations and enable developers to create more expansive, immersive gaming worlds that invite more players to play.

From a technical standpoint, this will manifest as world-class visuals in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, with possibility of up to 120 frames per second, including support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and 8K capability. Powered by our custom-designed processor leveraging the latest Zen 2 and next generation RDNA architecture from our partners at AMD, Xbox Series X will deliver hardware accelerated ray tracing and a new level of performance never before seen in a console. Additionally, our patented Variable Rate Shading (VRS) technology will allow developers to get even more out of the Xbox Series X GPU and our next-generation SSD will virtually eliminate load times and bring players into their gaming worlds faster than ever before.

We are minimizing latency by leveraging technology such as Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and giving developers new functionality like Dynamic Latency Input (DLI) to make Xbox Series X the most responsive console ever. Xbox Series X is also designed for a future in the cloud, with unique capabilities built into the hardware and software to make it as easy as possible to bring great games to both console and elsewhere. Xbox Series X will deliver a level of fidelity and immersion unlike anything that’s been achieved in previous console generations.

One Console, Four Generations of Gaming

One of the things we’re most proud of with Xbox Series X is the promise we’re delivering to our fans who have and continue to invest with Xbox. Thanks to backward compatibility, you can expect your gaming legacy, thousands of your favorite games across four generations of gaming, all your Xbox One gaming accessories, and industry-leading services like Xbox Game Pass to be available when you power on your Xbox Series X in holiday 2020.

Building on our compatibility promise, with Xbox Series X we’re also investing in consumer-friendly pathways to game ownership across generations. Leading the way with our first-party titles including Halo Infinite in 2020, we’re committed to ensuring that games from Xbox Game Studios support cross-generation entitlements and that your Achievements and game saves are shared across devices. As we branch out and extend gaming to more players around the world, console gaming will remain at the heart of our Xbox offering. Game creators around the globe are already hard at work building content for Xbox Series X and our 15 Xbox Game Studios are developing the largest and most creatively diverse lineup of Xbox exclusive games in our history. On behalf of Team Xbox, we’re excited to enter the future of console gaming with you and can’t wait to share more in 2020.

Resident Evil 3 Remake Announced For PS4, Xbox One and PC

On the heels of the award-winning Resident Evil 2, this highly demanded follow-up in the 94 million unit selling franchise once again utilizes Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine to complete the Raccoon City story arc. Resident Evil 3 stars Jill Valentine–one of video games’ most iconic heroines–as she escapes from a crumbling Raccoon City while being pursued by the unrelenting bioweapon Nemesis. Players can also participate in previously untold Umbrella experiments on the outskirts of Raccoon City in the included online asymmetrical multiplayer game Resident Evil: Resistance, previously known as the working title Project ResistanceResident Evil 3 will be available on PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X, and Steam on April 3, 2020.

Resident Evil 3 is set amidst the nightmarish outbreak of the T-virus, a biological weapon developed by the pharmaceutical company Umbrella Corporation. The game marks the debut of Nemesis–a towering humanoid bioweapon designed for both brutality and high-functioning intelligence–whose dogged hunt of S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine made him an icon of the Resident Evil series. Armed with an arsenal of high-powered weaponry and wrapped in a black suit to hide his mutilated features, Nemesis will maim, pulverize or destroy any obstacle on the path to his target.

Jill’s harrowing escape takes place in the panic-stricken hours leading up to and following the events of the acclaimed best-selling Resident Evil 2. Intense combat and puzzle solving combine to deliver the heart-pounding final chapter of Raccoon City’s collapse. The horrific settings from the original game and new content come to life as never before with RE Engine, previously utilized to create the acclaimed Resident Evil 7: biohazardResident Evil 2, and Devil May Cry 5 with high-definition graphics and modernized gameplay mechanics.

Resident Evil: Resistance

Complementing the action-packed single player campaign is Resident Evil: Resistance, an asymmetrical four-versus-one multiplayer game originally unveiled as a working title at Tokyo Game Show earlier this year. As the Mastermind behind the scenes, players can assume the role of key Resident Evil characters like Annette Birkin in a series of deadly experiments. Manipulate the environment and wield a deck of cards to place vicious creatures, set traps and weaponized security cameras to snare hapless Survivors. A first for the franchise, Masterminds can even directly control elite bioweapons like G-Birkin and Tyrant. In turn, four Survivors must effectively work together, making the most of a variety of weapons and each player’s unique special abilities, to stand a chance of escaping the experiment before time runs out.
