One of the most anticipated games of this year is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which was showcased for the first time at E3, however the response it got was mixed because of how bland the game seemed. That wasn’t the case though as media persons who saw the extended demo said that there’s way more depth to the game and we finally get to see it in the Extended Gameplay Demo.
This gameplay demo is the same as the one that was shown to the media during E3 and does a better job showcasing all the various aspects of the game from the Metroid-like exploration to how it has been inspired by the Soulsborne games and Sekiro with their combat gameplay elements.
The first 10 minutes of the extended cut showcase so much of the game, like a look at combat with a Spider, using an AT-AT and how you’ll have to gain upgrades to open up new exploration paths. Further into the video, we get a look at the “bonfire checkpoint” system which restores our health and acts as a place to upgrade our skills as Cal meditates.
There’s a lot more depth to the game than meets the eye and hopefully at PAX and/or Gamescom we see more of this game and what it has to offer. The extended gameplay did give us a better look at the non-linearity of the planets and exploration and combat which has left us with a better impression than the first one.
Game Director, Stig Asmussen also realized that the E3 trailer didn’t showcase much and had a lot to say about the game which you can read about by clicking the link below.
