With another week comes another set of free games from the Epic Games Store and this week we’ve got two really fantastic post-apocalyptic RPG titles. These games will be available from 14th August till 22nd August so make sure to get them.
Hyper Light Drifter
Echoes of a dark and violent past resonate throughout a savage land, steeped in treasure and blood. Hyper Light Drifter is an action adventure RPG in the vein of the best 16bit classics, with modernized mechanics and designs on a much grander scale.
Drifters of this world are the collectors of forgotten knowledge, lost technologies and broken histories. Our Drifter is haunted by an insatiable illness, traveling further into the lands of Buried Time, hoping to discover a way to quiet the vicious disease.
Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden
The humans are all gone. Scavenging through the remains of civilization are the Mutants, deformed humanoids and animals alike, searching for salvation or just something to eat. To survive, you and your companions must venture out to explore the Zone.
Maybe one day you will find the Eden of legends, the ancients’ haven in the middle of hell. That’s where truth awaits, the stories say. Maybe you will find your answers there.
Both games are available now and will be replaced by Fez from 22nd August onwards.
Epic Games Store’s free games giveaway continues as next week we’re getting some pretty big games. And yes, we’re yet again getting two games.
Hey free game fans! Next week, Alan Wake and For Honor will be available for FREE starting 8/2 11AM EDT and ending 8/9 10:59AM EDT – That means you can grab today’s free games until 10:59 AM EDT on 8/2!
While this week they gave away This War of Mine and Moonlighters, next week in August we’re going to get Alan Wake and Ubisoft’s For Honor.
Alan Wake is a great game that sadly never got a sequel. You play as Alan Wake, a writer whose wife goes missing while they’re on vacation and he now must solve this mystery while slowly getting entangled with the more sinister and mysterious forces of the world.
The other game is For Honor, a multiplayer game where you fight against other warriors using a fighting system that Ubisoft made for this game. The game is still going strong with new characters and seasons being added in and is one of the most unique multiplayer experiences.
These games will be given out from 2nd August till 9th August so make sure to get them by signing in to your Epic Games Store account.
Epic Games Store’s free games keep on coming as this week there’s another free game. Limbo is the game for this week and after that, there will be two free games.
Limbo is a creepy side-scroller where you’re trying to find your sister while trying to dodge traps, solve puzzles and just stay alive. The game is available for free now and will be until 25th July.
After Limbo, Epic Games will be giving out two free games. This War of Mine and Moonlighter. The reason for this is because This War of Mine is rated M which means that it will be inaccessible to quite a few people because of Epic’s Parental Controls. So that nobody misses out, Epic is giving out Moonlighter as well.
In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle.
Moonlighter is an Action RPG with rogue-lite elements following the everyday routines of Will, an adventurous shopkeeper that dreams of becoming a hero.
You’re a Space Ninja who wears an exo-suit with a sword and guns and really cool tech. The game is filled to the brim with content and often gets compared to Destiny however, the fans of Warframe will be quick to tell you that this game is vastly superior. The difficulty curve is a little bit steep at the start but once you’re in, you’ll be really in.
A game that can be described as a mixture of Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch. Complete objectives to help your team win with a supporting cast of colourful characters and classes. Sadly, the game is not being supported anymore with live updates but the servers are still live with a pretty small yet active player base. Give this game a try before it’s lost to time.
Deceit is a game of deception. Inspired by Gmod’s famous Trouble in Terrorist Town game mode, this game throws in 6 players into a match with 2 of those being infected. The infected must kill all the innocent players while the innocent players must complete objectives and survive till the end and escape to win. It is extremely fun to play, especially with friends and is an absolute blast.
If you want a game that has gameplay similar to the fast-paced shooting action of Call of Duty, look no further. Ironsight is a fast and fluid first-person shooter that’s very reminiscent of the multiplayer modes of Call of Duty titles. It’s very easy to get into and the shooting is very satisfying.
