Fortnite Removed From Apple And Google App Stores

Fortnite has been removed from Apple and Google app stores due to its recent update violating store policies. The update featured an option for users to buy Fortnite’s currency V-bucks at a 20 percent discount directly from Epic Games. According to Apple and Google this move violated the app store policies as both stores take a 30 percent share from in-app revenue purchases in games and the new update would have bypassed that.

Apple was the first to take action by removing the app from its app store followed by google. The gaming app is no longer available for iPhone users but android users can still download the app from Epic Games Store or from Samsung Galaxy store for Samsung devices. Previously, Apple had also refused to add game streaming services like Xbox’s Xcloud, Google’s Stadia and Facebook Gaming.

Fortnite official youtube channel also released a video similar to an Apple’s iconic 1984 commercial with #FreeFortnite at the very end. The video is apparently a call out to all of the gaming community to unite and support Epic Games in their fight against Apple. The game developer has always been against such policies since Fortnite’s launch on smartphones.

Immediately after the removal of the app Epic filed a lawsuit against Google and Apple calling their practices unfair and anti competitive. The lawsuit stated, “Epic does not seek monetary compensation from this Court for the injuries it has suffered. Epic likewise does not seek a side deal or favorable treatment from Google for itself. Instead, Epic seeks injunctive relief that would deliver Google’s broken promise: an open, competitive Android ecosystem for all users and industry participants. Such injunctive relief is sorely needed.”

Epic claims that Google forced phone manufacturer OnePlus to break off a deal that would have seen a special Fortnite launcher preinstalled on OnePlus phones and also demanded that another Android phonemaker, LG to abandon any plans to do the same.

Google in an official statement has stated, “while Fortnite remains available on Android, we can no longer make it available on Play because it violates our policies.” The tech giant said it welcomes the opportunity to continue discussions with Epic and bring Fortnite back to Google Play.

Apple also issued a statement that said, “Epic Games took the unfortunate step of violating the App Store guidelines that are applied equally to every developer and designed to keep the store safe for our users. As a result, their Fortnite app has been removed from the store. Epic enabled a feature in its app which was not reviewed or approved by Apple, and they did so with the express intent of violating the App Store guidelines regarding in-app payments that apply to every developer who sells digital goods or services.”

However, Apple did state that it will make every effort to work with Epic to resolve these violations so they can return Fortnite to the App Store.

Best operators in Rainbow Six: Siege

Ubisoft’s tactical shooter, Rainbow Six: Siege has fast established itself at the forefront of the fps genre. With its intricate map design, well-balanced weaponry and a multitude of operators to choose from, Siege is one of the most played games on the market right now. It has a steep learning curve which adds to the fun as it makes the game more challenging.  If you have got your hands at this game but are loggerheads as to which operator to choose, we’ve got you covered in this article about how to choose the best operator in Rainbow Six: Siege according to your playstyle. For the sake of simplicity, I’ll be dividing the operators into two parts: Attack and Defense.

ATTACK

Ash. Source: ESFStream

Ash – The go-to choice for many skilled players of the game, Ash is one of the oldest operators in the game. She comes under the category of a select few three-speed attackers. This results in her being extremely proficient at rushing in and making short work of the enemy. Her M120 Crem tears through doorways and unreinforced walls like a knife cuts through butter. Equip the R4-C assault rifle and it’ll be really tough to beat her in shootouts because of the gun’s stellar damage rating.

Buck. Source: DeviantArt

Buck – Buck has found a special place in the world of operators due to his efficiency at vertical play. The underslung shotgun he rocks is perfect for opening up ceilings and floors in order to surprise the enemy. His choice of weapons – C8-SFW rapid-fire assault rifle and the CAMRS DMR make him all the more appealing for players.

Hibana. Source: YouTube

Hibana – Versatility is key in R6 Siege and this is what makes Hibana a good choice. Her gadget the X-KAIROS carries six explosive rounds which can be used to tear open a wall. It also has the ability to destroy many reinforced windows and thin walls. She is also one of the three-speed operators which allow her to be quick and move from one side of the map to another in no time.

DEFENSE

Smoke. Source: YouTube

Smoke – When it comes to defenders, Smoke is one of the best anchors in the game. He is good at holding down a room and denying the attackers any entry. His remote gas grenades are useful in blocking off entire passageways due to the damaging fumes and a 10-second duration. The shotgun he carries has immense stopping power, to hold enemies at bay. Coupled with the smg he carries as a secondary he is good at ranged engagements too.

Bandit. Source: YouTube

Bandit – Bandit’s ability to destroy the gadgets of enemy operators makes him a must-have for the defending team as it denies breaching. The Shock Wire ability can also be used to create an electrified wire that destroys drones as soon as they come in contact. It can also be placed behind a Deployable Shield to make it invulnerable to Ash’s breaching rounds.

Jager. Source: YouTube

Jager – While he may not have moves like Jagger, Jager certainly has a lot up his sleeve to make him one of the best defensive operators in the game. The Active Defense Systems can be deployed to stop and disarm up to two enemy projectiles heading your way. These include grenades, flashbangs, etc. The gun he packs, the 416-C Carbine makes him effective at peeking and clearing put corners too.

PUBG Mobile: Better Graphics, Gun Game mode and Erangel 2.0

The devs behind PUBG Mobile are hard at work to bring to us these new additions to the game. Fans of the game should be quite pleased to know about the ongoing as well as the upcoming features being added to the title such as the new gun game mode, Erangel 2.0, better graphical performance and much more.

Better Graphics and Performance

Better graphics are on their way with reworked water reflections along with Ultra HD settings. The devs were also excited to announce 90 Hz support for the game but it seems that it is an exclusive feature for Oneplus phones till September 6th, 2020. In a game as fast paced as this better performance and 90 FPS are a huge upgrade

Gun Game Mode

Fresh content arrives in the form of the new Arena gameplay – Team Gun Game and Library map in the hit Arena playlist. This new PUBG Mobile mode is only available on weekends from Friday to Sunday. The concept of the game is quite simple 2 teams compete in 4×4 indoor square map and to win a player must get at least 18 kills. However, the catch is that with each kill your weapon changes with the final weapon being a pan, the iconic murder weapon.

Erangel 2.0

Players have been patiently waiting for this map update since its reveal back in June 2019. After more than a year of waiting the devs have finally added the revamped map to the 1.0.0 beta for PUBG Mobile last week. Based on past update patterns it is highly likely that that this update will release on the global version of the game by September.

Live Additions

Pharaoh Rises

The Pharaoh Rises event is slated to run from August 4 till September 11. Players will have the opportunity to win cool outfits like the Golden Pharaoh X-Suit, Warrior of Ra set, Warrior of Nut set, Underworld Guide set, and the Mummy set.

Other Additions

There’s also the Ancient Secret mode along with a plethora of new in-game events and exclusive rewards. Besides these a new Route Planner and waypoint system are being added to the game as well. PUBG Mobile has also recently added a new Jungle Adventure Mode to the game.

Big announcements from Microsoft

There have been two new big announcements by Microsoft recently.

The Xbox Series X, the next-gen video game console by Microsoft has got an official launch date that is November 2020. There were no further details disclosed regarding the pricing but it’s going to be head-on with Sony’s PlayStation 5 console which is also stated to launch during the holiday season 2020.

Source: Xbox Wire

The Xbox Series X is the most ambitious console by Microsoft. Packing an 8 core custom processor, a 12 teraflops custom RDNA 2 GPU coupled with 16 gigs of RAM and an SSD to top it all off. Microsoft has confirmed that their latest offering in the video game console market will support 120fps gaming and backwards compatibility across all generations.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X competition is going to be intense as none of them has revealed their prices but from what we gather, Microsoft is trying to low-ball Sony when it comes to pricing. You can read more about it here.

Both Microsoft and Sony have revealed lower-tier versions of their respective next-gen consoles. These will be called the Xbox Series S and a PS5 disk-less(digital) version.

Source: Forbes

Along with this also comes the announcement about Halo Infinite. Microsoft recently tweeted that the release date for HALO Infinite has been pushed to 2021. 343 Industries have said that the reason for doing so is the current pandemic which has made the development of big games difficult due to the work from home guidelines.

Chris Lee, studio head for Halo Infinite says, “We have made the difficult decision to shift our release to 2021 to ensure the team has adequate time to deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision. The decision to shift our release is the result of multiple factors that have contributed to development challenges, including the ongoing COVID-related impacts affecting us all this year. I want to acknowledge the hard work from our team at 343 Industries, who have remained committed to making a great game and finding solutions to development challenges. However, it is not sustainable for the well-being of our team or the overall success of the game to ship it this holiday.”

This was foreshadowed by other big titles which were set to release this year also being delayed.

This may turn out to be a blessing in disguise as the developers now have ample time to address fan feedback. After the demo which was shown earlier, the game’s reception had been rocky with people criticizing the graphics fidelity of the game as it looked like a last-gen game.

We’ll have to wait and see how it affects the launch of the Xbox Series X as Microsoft had planned to launch the game along with the console, marketing it as one of the most sought after exclusives.

Apple Won’t Allow Game Streaming Apps On iPhone

It seems Apple has gone to war with the gaming industry as it recently refused to allow game streaming services from Microsoft, Google and Facebook to be released on its app stores. Microsoft’s Game Pass, Google’s Stadia, and Facebook’s Gaming apps are all facing major difficulties in launching their apps on ios devices due to Apple app store review policies.

Apple is quite infamous for its app store policies but this move takes it to a whole another level. However, this decision may cost Apple dearly as these apps are the future of the gaming industry. Not being able to play the best games that console and PC can offer on your iPhone while you watch your friend play them on his android phone can be a bit excruciating for many iPhone users.

The reason for all this is that these companies won’t submit each game for review that’s why Apple is blocking apps that provide access to these games. In their defense Apple’s has quite the strict reviewing policy which can take quite a while if considering the amount of games present on these platforms.

Facebook Gaming

It seems in order to get published Facebook Gaming was forced to remove one of its two major components, that is a library of playable mobile games. But in the end they were not happy with the outcome from this situation.

Facebook making fun of Apple

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg even shared quite some harsh comments on the matter with Business Insider.

“Unfortunately, we had to remove gameplay functionality entirely in order to get Apple’s approval on the standalone Facebook Gaming app — meaning iOS users have an inferior experience to those using Android,” Sandberg said in a statement. “We’re staying focused on building communities for the more than 380 million people who play games on Facebook every month — whether Apple allows it in a standalone app or not.”

Microsoft

Microsoft too had a similar stance on the matter as told by a Company spokesperson.

“Unfortunately, we do not have a path to bring our vision of cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to gamers on iOS via the Apple App Store”. He further added, “Apple stands alone as the only general purpose platform to deny consumers from cloud gaming and game subscription services like Xbox Game Pass. And it consistently treats gaming apps differently, applying more lenient rules to non-gaming apps even when they include interactive content.”

It is quite clear that Apple’s app store policy is quite discriminatory when it comes to gaming apps as it doesn’t have the same review policy for non-gaming streaming apps like Netflix, Hotstar or Disney Plus. Nevertheless, it is quite unfortunate for iPhone users cause it is highly unlikely that these apps will ever be available on the app store.

PUBG Mobile: Independence Day Celebration Event

PUBG Mobile is celebrating the 74th Independence day along with its users through an ingame event where players can win free rewards. Along with this PUBG has also announced a few of their own events to keep players busy all of August.

The event “Incredible India” runs from August 10 till August 24 during which players can take part in three daily missions and quizzes to win PUBG Mobile flips. These include Dal Lake, Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Victoria Memorial, Charminar, Chennai Central, Mysore Palace, Gateway of India and Hawa Mahal.

Valorant: Best Agents To Play

Riot Games 5v5 arena shooter have recently added a new agent in its roster. The game is now home to 12 agents each offering a unique gameplay style. But not all agents are made equal; some are much better to fill the standard roles in your squad than others.

Valorant divides its agents classes into 4 roles those are- Duelists, Initiator, Sentinel and Controller. Each role defines your playstyle and duty in your squad, so make sure to pick an agent which compliments your gameplay.

Most Popular Agents

Sage

Sage is the best healer class in the game right now, even after her nerfs she remains at the top of the meta. She is a sentinel medic and is pretty good when it comes to team support. It is always advisable to at least have sage as one of the agents in your team as her abilities make it very forgiving in case your team makes a mistake. Her ultimate can be used to resurrect a fallen offensive agent while her barrier orb and slow orb can be used with other abilities to trap enemy teams. Her abilities are as follow

  • Healing Orb (Signature) – Equip a healing orb. Fire with your crosshairs over a damaged ally to activate a heal-over-time on them. Alt Fire while Sage is damaged to activate a self heal-over-time.

Cypher

Cypher is a sentinel whose specialist in enemy recon making him the best scout in the game. In a game like Valorant it is a huge advantage being able to know exactly where the enemy is. • Cyber Cage (Purchasable) – Instantly toss the cyber cage in front of Cypher. Activate to create a zone that blocks vision and slows enemies who pass through it.
  • Neural Theft (Ultimate) – Instantly use on a dead enemy player in your crosshairs to reveal the location of all living enemy players.

Sova

Sova is what you would call a “find and destroy” specialist although he requires a high skill level to fully utilize his abilities. Unlike Cypher his abilities are not just good for scouting enemies but also for dealing significant damage to them. He is great for team players which is especially important in competitive matches. He can use his Recon Bolt or Owl Drone to scout enemies and use his Shock Bolt or Hunter’s Fury to finish them off. His abilities are as follows-

  • Recon Bolt (Signature) – Equip a bow with recon bolt. Fire to send the recon bolt forward, activating upon collision and revealing the location of nearby enemies caught in the line of sight of the bolt. Enemies can destroy this bolt. Hold fire to extend the range of the projectile. Alternate Fire to add up to two bounces to this arrow.
  • Owl Drone (Purchasable) – Equip an owl drone. Fire to deploy and take control of movement of the drone. While in control of the drone, fire to shoot a marking dart. This dart will reveal the location of any player struck by the dart.
  • Shock Bolt (Purchasable) – Equip a bow with a shock bolt. Fire to send the explosive bolt forward, detonating upon collision and damaging players nearby. Hold fire to extend the range of the projectile. Alternate Fire to add up to two bounces to this arrow.
  • Hunter’s Fury (Ultimate) – Equip a bow with three long-range, wall-piercing energy blasts. Fire to release an energy blast in a line in front of Sova, dealing damage and revealing the location of enemies caught in the line. This ability can be reused up to two more times while the ability timer is active.

Best Beginner Agents

Brimestone

Brimestone is one of the most beginner friendly agents in the game due to his kit being extremely versatile in both offense and defense. As a controller he is efficient at crowd control with a hint of aggressiveness. His abilities are quite good when it comes to flushing out targets as well as defending objectives. His abilities are as follows-

  • Sky Smoke (Signature) – Equip a tactical map. Fire to set locations where Brimstone’s smoke clouds will land. Alternate Fire to confirm, launching long-lasting smoke clouds that block vision in the selected area.
  • Stim Beacon (Purchasable) – Equip a stim beacon. Fire to toss the stim beacon in front of Brimstone. Upon landing, the stim beacon will create a field that grants players rapid fire.

  • Orbital Strike (Ultimate) – Equip a tactical map. Fire to launch a lingering orbital strike laser at the selected location, dealing high damage-over-time to players caught in the selected area.

Phoenix

Phoenix is perfect for players coming in from CS who like to be on the frontline. His kit offers multiple offensive measures but be careful when using his ultimate as it only shows its true potential when used carefully. He can also self heal and block choke points effectively making him an all rounder too. His abilities are as follows-

  • Hot Hands (Signature) – Equip a fireball. Fire to throw a fireball that explodes after a set amount of time or upon hitting the ground, creating a lingering fire zone that damages enemies.
  • Blaze (Purchasable) – Equip a flame wall. Fire to create a line of flame that moves forward, creating a wall of fire that blocks vision and damages players passing through it. Hold fire to bend the wall in the direction of your crosshair.
  • Curveball (Purchasable) – Equip a flare orb that takes a curving path and detonates shortly after throwing. Fire to curve the flare orb to the left, detonating and blinding any player who sees the orb. Alternate Fire to curve the flare orb to the right.
  • Run It Back (Ultimate) – Instantly place a marker at Phoenix’s location. While this ability is active, dying or allowing the time to expire will end this ability and bring Phoenix back to this location with full health.

Hyper Scape: how to win

Ubisoft’s foray into the battle royale genre with their free to play game Hyper Scape has met with a positive response so far. Currently, in the open beta phase, the game has received widespread acclaim for its fast-paced gameplay and futuristic design. Another notable feature is its strong integration with streaming which allows Twitch viewers to affect the outcome of a match.

If you’ve managed to get your hands on this offering from Ubisoft and with season 1 of the game releasing very soon, we’ve compiled a small list of tips and tricks to help improve your gameplay and win more games.

Source: TheGamePost

Drop Locations: As with any other battle royale game, choosing a good drop zone is one of the foremost things you can do to increase your chances of survival and winning. If you’re looking for a slower game, try to drop into buildings that are not in the center of a sector. This will allow you to rotate more effectively and also keep a watch on the enemies’ whereabouts. Try to drop in a less populated area if you’re new to the game as early game firefights can be intense.

Keep an eye out for loot crates, as they also make a distinct sound.

Loadout is king: Your choice of weaponry directly affects the outcome of the game, so be careful in choosing which guns you wanna rock. The Hexfire is currently considered one of the best guns in the game with a huge clip size, fast fire rate, and a precise range of fire. Pairing it with a sniper rifle is also a great idea for those long-distance engagements. Choose your abilities wisely(referred to as Hacks in-game), a good rule of thumb is to have one which assists you in combat and one for mobility.

Source: Dexerto

Pay Attention to the map: Hyper Scape differs from traditional BR games in one major aspect and that is the sector-based closing system. Doing away with a ring-based system, specific sectors of the map close down, forcing players to move. This also results in players having to move through closed sectors in order to get to the open sector, exposing them to enemies. Always be vigilant upon which sectors are closing and proactive in your rotations.

Source: The Verge

Get the crown: In Hyper Scape, when one reaches the final sector or the endgame, a crown appears, and getting a hold of it and securing it for a period of time results in a win. This is when your mobility Hacks come to play, the teleport ability is especially useful for when you have the crown and want to make a quick escape.

The armour hack, when fully upgraded is also especially useful as it makes you invulnerable for a short while with a short cooldown period to accompany it.
