Minecraft is Officially Getting Ray Tracing

Minecraft, the legendary game that took over the world a couple of years ago with its simplistic graphics and simple yet deep gameplay is about to become one of the most graphically intense games, officially.

Minecraft is getting official support for Ray Tracing which means you won’t need shaders to get that Ray Tracing goodness. Plus with Nvidia partnering with Microsoft for this means that it’s going to be somewhat optimized. However, you will need a GPU with Ray Tracing support to be able to play it.

Also, this will be available on the Windows version of the game and not the Java version. So if you want to try ray tracing on the Java version, shaders seem to be the only way as of now.

After the cancellation of the old Super Duper Graphics Pack for Xbox recently many were left upset after the way it was advertised at E3. They stated that they were building a whole new model for lighting and textures which turned out to be harder than they expected. Maybe they dropped it because of this. And maybe, this will be available on the Xbox Scarlett.
