PUBG Update 4.2 Brings in Dynamic Weather to Erangel

PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds Season 4 brought in the new Erangel and a lot of changes but that’s not all as the Update 4.2 adds a much-requested feature, Dynamic Weather, among other things.

Dynamic Weather added to Erangel

  • ‘Overcast’ weather has been added to Erangel.
  • When a match starts with overcast weather on Erangel, the weather will change dynamically over the course of the match between overcast, windy, hail, light rain, heavy rain (rain with lightning and thunder), and fog.

Destructible Objects on Erangel

  • Additional destructible pylons and barricades have been added to Erangel. They can be destroyed by vehicles, weapons and explosions, but do provide a limited amount of cover until they are destroyed.
  • Some existing objects which were previously indestructible are now destructible, such as the traffic cones in Mylta.

Vehicle Handling Improvements

  • Improved vehicle handling of the Scooter, Snowmobile, Snowbike and Motorcycle with Sidecar, thus improving overall driving stability.
  • Motorcycle with Sidecar off-road driving control and stability has been greatly improved.

Vehicle Engine Toggle

  • Vehicle engines can now be turned off/on by pressing ‘Z’.
  • The engine can be turned off while driving, after gaining momentum and can be used for quiet, tactical maneuvers.
  • Once the engine is off, pressing ‘W’ to accelerate or ‘Z’ will start the engine again.
  • Vehicle engines will automatically be turned off if the vehicle stays at a standstill for 8 seconds, or 2 seconds after the driver disembarks.

Sound QoL Improvements

  • Added master volume preview
  • The master volume can now be previewed while in the menu, to better allow users to set their preferred maximum volume level.
  • This can be founder under Settings – Audio – Sound – Master volume and by clicking on the ‘play’ button.
  • Added Instant Volume Reducer.
  • This new feature temporary decreases the volume of games sound effects to facilitate more clear communication with teammates.
  • Use ‘F7’ to reduce game master volume, while maintaining the volume of voice chat.
  • Use ‘F7’ key again to return to the original volume.

PUBG PS4 Coming on 7th December

[EDIT]: Few hours after this post went up PlayStation’s official Twitter announced that PUBG will officially release on the PlayStation 4 on 7th December 2018

PUBG is available on the PC, it’s available on the Xbox One, it’s available on mobile. And now, it might be coming to the PlayStation 4 according to a couple of leaks.

PUBG is a console exclusive and is only available on the Xbox One family of consoles however that may change come December. According to a listing on Amazon

The above screenshot is from the product page that was listed for PUBG PlayStation 4. The release date as seen is set for 8th December which is one day after The Game Awards. This year TGA has the biggest line-up of games and a lot of surprises and this could be one of them. Another reason why this rumour has gained traction is because a user over at ResetEra noticed someone named PSNProifles claim that PUBG was present in the PS4 game database and in the same thread games analyst Daniel Ahmad also speculated that the game might launch on 6th December.

PUBG came to Xbox on December 12th, 2017 as an Xbox Game Preview title and officially released in September this year. If PUBG were to release on December 8th, 2018 it would be almost after a full year of PUBG being available on Xbox which makes sense as it was a timed exclusive.

PUBG Tips & Tricks To Become A Pro

PUBG Mobile is getting more and more popular as the days go by and that means that people are also getting better. So, if you’re just getting in on the trend here’s some tips and tricks to help you.

Know Where To Land

Knowing where to land can give you a big advantage straight from the start. Places like Pochinki, Yasnaya Polyana, Military Base in Erangel, Los Leones, El Pozo in Miramar and Kampong, Cave and Bootcamp in Sanhok are hotspots so try avoiding them because while the loot is good, there’s a lot of activity in these areas so if you do go there prepare to fight from the moment you land and formulate a plan beforehand.

Weapons To Use

The Weapons you use in what situation could be the difference between winning and losing. If you’re in close quarters, try to use something like a shotgun or an Uzi while for long range combat the M416 is the way to go, especially if you can get the appropriate accessories for your weapons which can greatly help you survive in the long run.

Make sure to listen to Audio Cues.

Another thing that sets good players apart from the crowd is the use of Audio. Always try to use earphones/headphones to pick up on audio cues which can help you determine if there are enemies nearby. You can easily pinpoint the direction of gunshots and footsteps if you have your earphones on to gain an advantage on an enemy who might have not spotted you yet. Use this along with watching your minimap to see enemy blips that are formed due to gunshots and you should have the edge over them.

Loot grenades, flashbangs, molotovs and smoke grenades.

A lot of people tend to skip over Grenade Utility. Don’t do that. Try to get at least one of each because they all have their uses and can be what gets you the chicken dinner. An enemy in the building? Chuck in a Grenade or Molotov. Flash your enemies with a Flashbang or use it to create a decoy on the radar so that you can surprise an enemy. Use a smoke to act as a cover or use it to draw an enemy’s attention giving you the opportunity to strike.

Don’t stay in a building in the final circle.

While it may seem like a safe option, a building can turn from a safe haven to your tomb very quickly when in the final circle. Usually be the endgame most players tend to be loaded with utility so they tend to have Grenades and Molotovs. They can chuck in nades to either flush you out or to bomb you to death which can leave you so agonizingly close to a chicken dinner.

PUBG Themed Restaurants Open In India; One In Jaipur

PUBG is one of the most famous games in India and is probably the most played game in the country especially since the mobile version is free. So it makes sense that to capitalize on the craze there’s now PUBG Themed Restaurants being opened across India with one now in Jaipur.

PlayerUnknown’s Belly Grounds is the name of the restaurant in Jaipur. It has an Erangel theme as the walls are painted with PUBG characters and the Erangel landscape. The tables look like the supply drops and the front of the Jeeps that are found in the game and outside the restaurant is the front part of the Jeep that resembles the one in the game.

If you’re looking for the restaurant head on over to 5, Panchsheel Colony, Sushilpura, Ajmer Road, Jaipur 302019.

Granny Gets Her First Chicken Dinner In PUBG

Gaming is not just for the younguns and is for everybody, irrespective of age and being good is also not tied to age as seen by this Granny who got her first chicken dinner in PUBG.

GrannyGottaGun is a Twitch Streamer who often streams herself as she plays PUBG with a group of people. Her team has won Chicken Dinners before but this was the first time she survived till the very end and won a chicken dinner. Now she isn’t a pro player or anything but she seems to have a lot of fun and even states that she got only 5 Hit Points that whole game even though they won.

Now that Granny has survived and won her first ever chicken dinner, her grandkids are probably going to be stuffed full with some very wholesome chicken dinner that she earned on a live stream. This means a lot to her as seen in the video when she goes around to tell her family that she survived and won a chicken dinner. She also stated in a Reddit post that she never played games before PUBG so this is pretty damn good and its great to see such wholesome content.

PUBG’s New Rank System Is Out Now

PUBG PC’s patch 22 has dropped which features quite a bit of new additions as well as fixes. This update includes an updated Anti-Cheat and a new Ranking System.

The new ranking system has players start every season with 10 placement matches that set their initial ranking. The ranking system will have eight different levels: bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, elite, master, and grandmaster. Each level will have a top 100 global leaderboard. If a player in PUBG ends a game at last place, they will also 20 RP. If a player on diamond level wins a game with at least eight kills they will get 30 RP, otherwise, if it’s lower, they will get 20RP.

In its dev letter, PUBG Corp said, “Each of the 8 Ranks represents a range of total RP earned throughout the current season. At the start of a new season, RP will be soft reset and you will enter placement matches once again to determine your new starting rank, which takes into account your final standing from the previous season. Ranks will be gained and lost as you cross their point thresholds, with no additional qualifying matches required to move to the next rank.”
