Marvel’s Avengers A-Day Gameplay Trailer Showcases The Prologue

The Marvel’s Avengers was first showcased to the public at San Diego Comic-Con in July. While parts of the footage did leak to the public, we now have it in good quality and released by Square Enix themselves.

The gameplay footage goes through the entire prologue which starts at the stage that’s set up for the Avengers during Avengers Day. The celebrations are quickly cut short as there’s an explosion in the distance. The game opens up as you get to play as Thor followed by Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and finally as Black Widow who takes on Task Master.

As she beats Task Master, there is no time to celebrate as the heli-carrier that Captain America is on explodes and he seemingly dies in the explosion. We then get to look at what seems like present-day as the Avengers are now disliked by the public and have disbanded. There’s a statue of Captain America and a memorial for all the people that were lost on A-Day.

The game seems to have been polished since Comic-Con but we can’t really confirm that. It looks interesting but this was just the prologue and we don’t know how the main game will play yet. However, we’re cautiously optimistic about this game and maybe it will turn out to be good.

Get the details below.

■ World

◆ Monzola Island

Cooperate with the residents of Monzola Island in order to build a plantation and restore the island’s rich greenery!

While it is hard for the protagonist alone to build a plantation, the residents of the island will assist by plowing the field and watering the crops. By borrowing the strength of the island’s residents, you will be able to get the job done in no time. Combine your power to create your dream plantation!

—Put up a scarecrow! The island’s residents will plow the land!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

—Decide which crops to grow and plant the seeds in the field!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

—The island’s residents will water the crops! After that, wait for them to grow!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

—Drive away the monsters attacking your crops!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

—Many crops have grown!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

—Build a plantation all your own!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

Gather the people’s feelings of gratitude and sound the “Builder’s Bell!” The island’s residents’ motivation to build will gradually increase!

The inhabitants of the island who believe in the teachings of the Hargon Order will gradually become more positive through building with the protagonist. This is denoted by heart-shaped “Builder Points” sometimes dropped by the residents. By gathering many of these, you can sound the “Builder’s Bell” in town. The sound of the bell will draw out the motivation of the residents and they will gradually grow more positive towards building. Create your plantation in no time.

—The island residents’ feelings of gratitude for the protagonist’s building are represented by heart-shaped “Builder Points!”

Dragon Quest Builders 2

—By ringing the Builder’s Bell, the level of the town and motivation of the residents will increase!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

—The amount and variety of things the protagonist can create will also increase!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

Dragon Quest Builders 2

◆ Evolved Building, Part 2

Part 1 available here.

Use “Builder Tools” that make building easier!

In addition to weapons and armor such as swords to fight against monsters, you can also equip “Builder Tools” that are useful for building. Things such as a hammer that breaks hard rocks, a bottomless pot that scoops up water, or gloves to carry things. All of these are useful tools, so use them well.

—Hammer: If you have a hammer, you can break hard rocks and trees! Build up power and swing it with a bang!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

—Bottomless Pot: Scoop up water in the bottomless pot and scatter it where you like! Create water fields in various places!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

—Gloves: By wearing gloves, you can carry things as they are without breaking them!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

—You can even move and reposition flowers and furniture!

Dragon Quest Builders 2

The Difference Between Weapons and the Hammer

Weapons such as swords can deal great damage to monsters, but will only break so little and cannot break anything hard like rocks and trees. A hammer can break a large variety of things, but can only deal little damage to monsters. Use these tools properly.

—Since wielding a weapon will not break buildings and furniture, you can fight the monsters attacking the town without hesitation.

Dragon Quest Builders 2

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is due out for PlayStation 4 and Switch on December 20 in Japan.

Left Alive Gets New Screenshots And Introduces Three Playable Characters

Left Alive Gets New Screenshots and Introduces Three Playable Characters

Today Square Enix released a large gallery of screenshots and artwork focusing on its upcoming survival shooter set in the Front Mission universe, Left Alive.

In 2127 the Garmonia Republic declares war on the neighbouring country named Rutenia, beginning with the invasion of the border city Novoslava.

The Rutenian border troops are taken completely by surprise, and the battle ends almost instantly. However, that battle for survival is just about to begin for those left behind.

We get an introduction of the three playable characters.

Mikhail Alexandrovich Schwarov is a wanzer pilot of the Rutenian Army’s 2nd mechanized platoon. Although he lacks experience, his ability as a pilot is highly praised. On the other hand, he is known for minor violations of discipline, and he is considered a bit of a problem child by his officers.

During the attack by the Garamonian army, he faces the main enemy force and his platoon is annihilated, alongside his own wanzer. While he barely escapes the wreck, he finds himself isolated, with no allies to rely on.

Olga Sergeevna Kalinina is a police officer in Novoslava. She was once a wanzer pilot in Garamonia, but she lost her only daughter during an armed confrontation between the army and the people of the NGFP. As a consequence, she left the army.

After obtaining Rutenian citizenship, she became a police officer in Novoslava. Although her ability as a cop is excellent, and she struggles to improve the security of the city, her independent action made her stand out. She is investigating frequent trafficking cases.

Leonid Fedorovich Ostermann is a high-ranking member of the Novoslava liberation movement NGFP. Originally, he was a mercenary, and he was hired when the movement intensified its armed resistance. While he worked for the organization, he sympathized with the ideas it represented and became a core member with the task of supervising military armed operations.

When the leader of the group is assassinated, he is framed as the culprit and sentenced to death. He denied the allegations, and there was no motive, but the existence of multiple witnesses decided his sentence. His public execution was actually faked, and he was instead imprisoned. That’s when the war reaches Novoslava. He knows nothing of the circumstances behind the assassination, nor why he was kept alive.

In the game the player takes control of all three characters, as the story begins when they’ve left alone behind enemy lines in different circumstances. Ammunition and supplies are scarce, and it’s almost impossible to face a large number of enemies head-on. This is a game in which tactics are important, inheriting the strategic nature of the Front Mission series. It’s important to choose the best route to avoid enemies and get back at them with traps.

Players can infiltrate, use crafting, and make various choices to avoid gunfights. There are also factors depending on player choice as the three characters struggle to uncover the reasons for the Rutenian invasion and the conspiracies behind it.

Check out the screenshots below.

The game will release in Japan on February 28th, 2019 for PS4 and PC, and it’ll come west in 2019 for the same platforms.
