The Walking Dead Final Season Might Still Happen, Just Not By Telltale

Telltale Games laid off the bulk of its staff and have been in hot water ever since. With a half-finished game which is the Final Season of The Walking Dead, many wondered about the fate of the game and if it would ever get an ending.

According to a report from Kotaku they’ve been getting insider information. One of the people they spoke to has said that Telltale is currently working on getting the episodes finished by another company. The company that will finish the game will apparently hire the laid-off employees on a contract basis. They’ve also stated that episode three of the final season is complete and was scheduled for a rating review by the ESRB which happens in the final stages of a game’s development.

Episode Three was supposed to release on 16th November with Episode Four on 18th December. The first round of Voice Work for the main characters was already recorded. One of the insiders did say that the longer negotiations go on the slimmer the chances get for the original team to work on the game. Telltale did state previously that they were not making profits off of the games so why would another company step in to finish the game when there are high chances that they might lose money? It will be interesting to see how this plays out, that is for sure.
